摘要： A photosensitive photographic material is described comprising a support bearing a silver halide emulsion layer sensitized with a dye of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein Y is S or Se,L.sup.1, L.sup.2, L.sup.3, L.sup.4 and L.sup.5 are each independently substituted or unsubstituted methine groups,A is N--R.sup.3 or O,B is N--R.sup.4 when A is O, or N--R.sup.4, S, or O when A is N--R.sup.3,R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group,R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group,R.sup.5 is an alkyl group of 1-4 carbon atoms,n is 0, 1 or 2, andX is counterion,and wherein at least two of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are substituted with an acid or acid salt substituent.
