摘要: A diverter-type mixing valve has a body formed with a chamber having opposite ends, a mixed-water feed passage opening into the chamber between its ends, a faucet outlet port opening into the chamber at one end thereof, a vent port opening into the chamber at the other end thereof, a diverter port also opening into the chamber at the other end thereof, and a restriction in the chamber between the feed passage and the ports at the other end. Mixed water is supplied under pressure to the feed passage. A diverter valve in the chamber directs flow from the feed passage out the faucet port when pressure between the restriction and the other end is greater than pressure between the restriction and one end and directs flow from the feed passage to the diverter port when pressure between the restriction and one end is greater than pressure between the restriction and the other end. A one-way vent valve in the vent port only permits flow through the vent port into the chamber and a one-way check valve associated with the diverter port only permits flow through the diverter port out of the chamber.

摘要: A valve has a housing formed with a connection face, an intake port adapted to be connected to a supply of pressurized liquid, an output port, an intake passage extending from the intake port to the connection face, a bore extending from the connection face, an output passage extending from the bore to the output port, and a bleed passage communicating with the atmosphere and opening into the bore. A valve cartridge secured to the connection face is operable to conduct liquid between the intake passage and the bore. A vent valve mounted in the output bore has inner and outer seats and a valve body movable between end positions in each of which it blocks one of the seats. The outer seat lies between the inner seat and the connection face and the output passage opens into the bore between the seats. The bleed passage opens into the bore through the inner seat.

摘要: A faucet assembly has a housing formed with a vent passage extending between inlet and vent ports and a feed passage extending between an outlet port and a location in the vent passage between the inlet and vent ports. An inner valve body is displaceable in the vent passage between an inner end position sitting in an inner valve seat at the inlet port and blocking flow out of the vent passage through the inlet port and an outer end position sitting in an outer seat and blocking flow from the location toward the vent port. Similarly an outer valve body is displaceable in the vent passage between an outer end position sitting in a vent seat at the vent port and blocking flow out of the vent passage through the vent port and an inner end position permitting flow through the vent port. A mixing valve normally feeds water under pressure to the inlet port and thereby presses the inner valve body into the outer position and, in an abnormal pressure-reversal situation, applies a subatmospheric pressure to the inlet port and thereby moves the inner valve body into the inner position. A faucet arm on the housing carries a removable spray head and a hose has one end connected to the spray head and an opposite end connected to the outlet port of the housing.

摘要: A plumbing fixture having a valve supplying water under pressure to an output and a hose outlet having an intake end has a vented backflow preventer having a housing separate from the valve and having an inlet port connected to the valve output and an outlet port connected to the hose intake end. A lower check valve in the housing has a lower seat, an upper seat, and a valve body of density greater than water movable between a lower position sitting on and blocking the lower seat and an upper position sitting on and blocking the upper seat. The housing is formed with an inlet passage leading from the inlet port to the lower seat and an outlet passage leading from between the seats to the outlet port. An upper check valve in the housing above the lower check valve has an upper seat above the lower-valve upper seat and a valve body of a density less than water and movable between an upper position sitting on and blocking the upper-valve upper seat and an upper position clear thereof. The housing is formed with an externally open vent opening into the upper check valve above the upper seat thereof.

摘要: A mixing valve has a housing, hot- and cold-water valves in the housing having respective valve stems rotatable about respective parallel axes, respective drive gears fixed on the stems, respective hot- and cold-water control elements pivotal on the housing, and respective coupling gears each connected to a respective one of the control elements and meshing with a respective one of the drive gears. The coupling gears each have a pair of gear segments of different effective radii, one of the gear segments of each coupling gear meshing with the respective valve drive gear and the other gear segment with the respective control element. The radii are such that the coupling gears create a step-down ratio of about 1:1.6.
