Abstract: A hearing aid (21) includes a signal processor producing signals that have been processed to compensate for a hearing impairment, a first output converter (26), a second output converter (27), a first acoustic output transducer (34) and at least a second output transducer (35). The first output converter (26) and the first output transducer (34) are configured to reproduce the high frequencies of the processed signals, and the second output converter (27) and the second output transducer (35) are configured to reproduce the low frequencies of the processed signals. The output converters (26, 27) may preferably be embodied as direct digital drive output converters. The processed signals are split between the first and second output converters according to a cross-over frequency tunable by programming.

Abstract: A method for an early warning score by a wearable system having an ear-worn device. By a number of sensors of the ear-worn device, at least three biometric quantities of a user are assessed from: heart rate, oxygen saturation of the blood, blood pressure and respiratory rate. To each of the at least three biometric quantities, a non-negative criticality value is assigned. From the criticality values, an early warning score is derived. A wearable system, having an ear-worn device with a number of sensors, each configured to generate a sensor signal representative of a vital function activity of a user when worn. The system is configured to derive from the sensor signal or signals at least three biomedical quantities of the user out of the following: heart rate, oxygen saturation of the blood, blood pressure and respiratory rate, and to derive an early warning score from the biomedical quantities.
