    摘要: In one aspect, a method of sending traffic in a telecommunications network is provided. The telecommunications network includes a first branch network, a second branch network, intermediate system, and a head office network having a server. The first and second branch networks communicatively connected to the head network via the intermediate system. Traffic for the second branch network is received at a first branch network. The traffic at the first branch network is modified such that the intermediate network forwards the traffic to the head network. The intermediate network recognises that the traffic is for the second branch network. The traffic is received at the head network, and the traffic is modified at the head network such that the intermediate network forwards the traffic to the second branch network.

    摘要: A transmission mode selection for packet-oriented transmission of useful data between a first and a second communication device is provided, where lists of transmission modes for the communication devices are transmitted to a quality-of-service device. The quality-of-service device uses available transmission resources to select one or more transmission modes from the lists such that the quality of service, which is dependent on the selected transmission modes, can be assured by the available transmission resources. The selected transmission modes are transmitted to a connection controller which prompts further selection of a transmission mode from the transmission modes for the communication devices. The useful data are then transmitted between the communication devices using the transmission mode selected by the further selection.

    摘要: A respective number of terminals are managed by network agents. When initializing a connection between two terminals, the network agent initializes the connection if the relevant terminals are arranged in the same bandwidth-uncritical area. If one of the terminals is arranged in a bandwidth-critical area, the network agent ascertains the requested bandwidth and sends a resource request to an associated bandwidth broker, which uses a topology function and knowledge of bandwidth used by existing connections to check the availability of the requested bandwidth in the bandwidth-critical area of the communication network. The use of network agents and the fact that resource requests are no longer required in the communication network dynamically reduces the load on bandwidth brokers and superordinate bandwidth brokers to a significant extent.

    摘要: In order to transmit data packets between a wirelessly connectable communications device and a communications partner, particularly during a handover process, the invention provides that when a first wireless transmission path is available, an availability of at least one additional wireless transmission path is detected. Based on the detection, a specific assignment schema, via which at least one portion of the data packets is assigned to each of the transmission paths, is selected according to specific transmission requirements and/or to a transmission protocol to be used for transmitting the data packets. An address specification specific to the transmission path is then assigned to a respective data packet that is assigned to a transmission path. By using the assigned address specifications, the data packets are transmitted via the different transmission paths between the communications device and the communications partner according to the selected assignment schema.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus for tracking changes in a collection of web documents, for example, provided by a web site. The web documents are retrieved at a first assigned point in time and a second assigned point in time. Then a similarity measure for a combination of a retrieved web document at a first assigned point in time and a retrieved web document at a second assigned point in time is calculated for determining pairs of corresponding web documents. By comparing said calculated similarity measure of a pair of corresponding web documents with predetermined thresholds for the similarity measure a change in the content of the corresponding web document between the first assigned point in time and second assigned point in time is detected. Instead of referring to identifiers like URLs for web pages the content similarities of web pages are considered. The proposed strategy facilitates the work of marketing analysts.
