The disclosure relates to an authentication device for automobile vehicles that controls door locking and/or engine starting and is able to interchange data over a certain distance with an identifier, intended to be carried by a user, when said identifier lies within the emission/reception coverage zone of said authentication device, to enable “hands-free” vehicle access and/or engine starting when said identifier has been authenticated by said authentication device, wherein said authentication device is connected to a single antenna inside the vehicle passenger compartment and is able to emit via said antenna at least two distinct emission powers, a first emission power enabling said antenna to cover a first zone including at least part of said passenger compartment, and a second emission power greater than said first emission power enabling said antenna to cover a second zone including at least the whole of said passenger compartment and possibly a coverage zone outside said vehicle.

A device for improving the security of a “hands-free” access system for a motor vehicle, the system comprising an identification device installed on the vehicle and able to control the locking the opening leaves of the vehicle, and at least one identifier intended to be worn or carried by a user and capable of setting up a remote exchange of data with the identification device so as to control the locking means, when the identification device has authenticated the identifier, the identification means being intended, after a locking command, to send an interrogation signal into the cabin of the vehicle and receive in response a “present” signal from each identifier still present in the cabin, wherein, when a “present” signal is received by the identification device, the identification device sends into the cabin an inhibit signal which is received and stored in memory by each identifier present in the cabin.

An openable panel for a motor vehicle having a lock (3) including an opening lever, an operating member mounted on the openable panel at a distance from the lock for manual operation by a user from the outside of the openable panel. A force transmission element connects the operating member to the lock opening lever. The lock can switch from a closed condition to an open condition in response to the operation of the opening lever with the aid of the operating member. The force transmission element is in two parts connected to each other by an energy storage device. An immobilizing mechanism is provide to immobilize the second part of the force transmission element when the lock is in the locked condition and to release the second part of the force transmission element in response to an unlocking command.

An identification device for controlling locking of the opening leaves of the vehicle. The identification device is capable of remotely exchanging data with an identifier carried by a user, so as to allow access to the vehicle. The identification device is connected to a number of external antennas so as to allow dialog between identification device and the identifier. At least one pair of the external antennas have a common area of overlap, so that the identification device is able to detect the presence of an identifier in the common area of overlap when the pair of antennas receives a signal from the same identifier. Each antennas of the pair also has its own area of coverage without any mutual overlap, so that the identification device is capable of detecting the presence of an identifier in one of the two aforementioned areas of coverage.
