Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium, and apparatus for selectively activating a universal serial bus (USB) port are disclosed. For example, the method receives a predefined list of services that are acceptable to work with the USB port, configures the USB port based on the predefined list of services, receives an indication that a service is requested via the USB port and provides the service via the USB port when the USB port is configured to provide the service based on the predefined list of services.
