摘要： A document feeding apparatus wherein documents are fed one by one from a document stacker by a first document feeding device and a second document feeding device which is provided in the midway of a path from the first document feeding device to a processing unit, and the movement of the document is stopped temporarily by a document stopping device before the leading end of the document fed from the second document feeding device reaches a synchronous sensor provided in the midway of a path from the second document feeding device to the processing unit. The first document feeding device consists of a feeding belt connected to a drive source through an electromagnetic clutch, and a separating roller which is in sliding contact with an upper surface of the feeding belt in a non-rotary state. The second document feeding device consists of a drive roller connected to a drive source through an electromagnetic clutch, and a driven roller which is press contact with the drive roller.

In preferred forms of the device, the first roller is connected to the second roller by a one-way clutch and the line speed of the first or second roller on the document feed side is greater than the line speed of the first or second roller on the discharge side.

摘要： A recording sheet feeding device for use in an image forming machine, in which a plurality of sheets on which a first image has been recorded are successively fed from a sheet stacker for a second image to be formed, provided with a sheet pressing mechanism above the stacker which takes a pressing or a non-pressing position with respect to sheets on the stacker. While sheets are being conveyed to the stacker, a pressing operation on the sheets is conducted by driving the mechanism at least twice. Sheet feeding from the stacker is started after the first pressing operation of the mechanism. A feeding timing of the first sheet to be fed after a second pressing operation is delayed compared with a feeding timing of other sheets. In another structure, a periodical pressing operation is conducted each time a predetermined number of sheets are conveyed into the stacker and feeding is started when a sheet preceding by a fixed number from the last sheet in a set number of sheets in the first image forming operation is conveyed into the stacker.

摘要： An automatic document feeding apparatus in which a plurality of documents are sequentially fed to an image exposure section. Before the completion of the exposure of a foregoing document, the feeding of a following document is started to place the document on a given position before the image exposure section and stopped thereon temporarily for stand-by. The position of the temporary stop of the following document can be varied in accordance with document size detecting signals from a document size detector or selected in such a manner that the distance between the trailing end of the foregoing document and the leading end of the following document becomes constant substantially irrespective of the size of the document.
