    摘要: A drive transmission apparatus includes an engage member that is rotatable in a radially displaced state with respect to a shaft member and an engaged member that is rotatable centering on an axis parallel with the shaft member. The engage member and the engaged member are engaged with and disengaged from each other by relatively moving along an axial direction. The drive transmission apparatus further includes a moving portion which can move the engage member in a direction in which a rotational axis of the engage member approaches an axis of the shaft member in a disengaged condition in which the engage member is disengaged from the engaged member. The moving portion thus regulates offset amount of the engage member in the disengaged condition, so that the engage member and the engaged member reliably engage with each other.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus transporting sheets of paper at a predetermined interval and forming an image on the sheets has, as modes for controlling the predetermined interval, a first mode of suspending a next paper feeding operation, for a predetermined time and for every predetermined number of sheets of paper and a second mode of expanding the interval of transportation between the paper feeding operations while continuing the transportation. The image forming apparatus decides whether a predefined first condition for starting control of the interval is satisfied during normal printing, determines a mode of the control in response to a decision that the condition is satisfied, and performs the control in the determined mode. The image forming apparatus calculates power consumption in each mode from the decision that the condition is satisfied to completion of uncompleted printing, and selects a mode in which the power consumption is relatively lower.

The two-side scanning apparatus includes: a white roller installed on an image sensor, a sheet feeding roller train installed on a first side of the white roller to transfer a sheet to the white roller and including two rollers contacting each other, a sheet discharging roller train installed on a second side of the white roller opposite the sheet feeding roller train and including three rollers in constant contact with one another, a sheet reversing path surrounding a circumferential surface of the white roller to receive and guide the sheet being transferred from the sheet discharging roller train back between the white roller and the image sensor, and a sheet guide plate installed between the white roller and the sheet discharging roller train to pivot at a predetermined angle and to guide the sheet toward the sheet reversing path when the sheet is transferred from the sheet discharging roller train toward the white roller.
