摘要： A fixing device including a fixing member; a heat source to heat the fixing member; a power supply to supply power to the heat source; a thermostat provided in the middle of a circuit connecting the heat source and the power supply to block power supply from the power supply to the heat source upon detection of a temperature of the fixing member equal to or greater than a predetermined temperature; a support member to contact terminals fixed to the thermostat to support the thermostat; and electrode plates provided opposite the support member with a gap therebetween to form a part of the circuit by connecting to surfaces of the terminals of the thermostat opposite surfaces thereof contacting the support member while the terminals are positioned within the gap. The electrode plates include a first guide part to guide the terminals into the gap.

摘要： A fixing device and image-forming apparatus, which provide required glossiness and paper adaptability, and, in addition, feature good operability and excellent durability while achieving optimal pressure-applying force for a variety of requirements. The fixing device has a pressure-applying lever; a pressure-releasing lever; a locking member, the one end of which is rotationally attached to the pressure-releasing lever; and an elastic member which pulls the locking member in a locking direction. The configuration is such that the rotation of the pressure-releasing lever displaces the location of the locking member, thereby enabling switching between a pressure-applying position, in which a fixing member presses against another fixing member, and a pressure-releasing position, in which the one fixing member moves away from the other fixing member.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a transfer unit, a fuser unit, a detector, and an adjustment mechanism. The transfer unit transfers an image from an imaging surface to a recording sheet passing through a transfer nip. The fuser unit fixes the transferred image in place on the recording sheet passing through a fixing nip. The transfer nip and the fixing nip form part of a sheet feed path along which a recording sheet is fed from the fuser unit to the transfer unit. The detector is located between the transfer nip and the fuser unit, and detects an amount of sheet skew by which the fed recording sheet is deviated from a proper position in the sheet feed path. The adjustment mechanism adjusts position of either or both of the transfer unit and the fuser unit according to the detected amount of sheet skew.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a transfer unit, a fuser unit, a detector, and an adjustment mechanism. The transfer unit transfers an image from an imaging surface to a recording sheet passing through a transfer nip. The fuser unit fixes the transferred image in place on the recording sheet passing through a fixing nip. The transfer nip and the fixing nip form part of a sheet feed path along which a recording sheet is fed from the fuser unit to the transfer unit. 摘要： According to an embodiments, a fixing device includes: an endless fixing member; a heating unit that is provided inside an inner peripheral surface of the fixing member; and a nip forming unit that comes into press-contact with a rotationally driven pressing member with the fixing member interposed therebetween to form a nip. The nip forming unit has a shape in which a center of a contact surface protrudes toward the pressing member compared to both ends. The nip forming unit has a protruding amount at a center toward the pressing member compared to both ends of the nip forming unit in no-load state is set to be less than a bent amount of the nip forming unit when the nip forming unit comes into press-contact with the pressing member with the fixing member interposed therebetween.
