摘要:
[Problem to be Solved] To evaluate an exact bone mineral density. [Means to Solve the Problem] When a reference bar region (248) in an X-ray picture (214) of a mandible and a reference bar disposed beside the mandible is selected, the mean value and deviation of the brightness of this region (248) are displayed by means of letter groups (224, 226). When an evaluation object region (254) is selected, the brightness of this region (254) is corrected according to the mean value and deviation of the brightness of the reference bar region (248) and standard mean value and deviation, or, in other words, according to a fixed reference. The corrected brightness is displayed in the form of histogram (curve 264, 266). Furthermore, the mean value and deviation of the corrected brightness are determined, and they are displayed by means of letter groups (239, 232). The bone mineral density is quantitatively evaluated from the histogram and the mean value and deviation of the corrected brightness.

A maxillary tooth dimension determining system includes a computer into which a photograph of a face of a client and its pupillary distance &agr; are inputted. The width W1 and height H1 of the first maxillary incisors are computed in accordance with the following expression. W1=&agr;×2.5×({fraction (1/16)}) and H1=W1×({fraction (4/3)}). The width W2 of the second maxillary incisors is computed in accordance with the following expression. W2=0.618W1 An image of the teeth is displayed on a display screen together with the image of the client's face, in such a manner that it can be moved to an appropriate position in the image of the client's face.
