摘要: A system is disclosed for changing a coverage angle of sound produced from a loudspeaker system. The loudspeaker system includes an enclosure that projects sound at a predetermined angle. A sound integrator includes an inner surface positioned adjacent to a mid-range frequency sound source. An outer surface of the sound integrator includes a planar and a curved surface. The surfaces control the angle which sound radiates from the loudspeaker.

摘要: In a process for producing an aromatic carboxylic acid, it is a dehydrating process which can achieve compactification of a step for removing water from a mixture of acetic acid and water produced in the production process, and which can reduce the consumed energy. In a production process of an aromatic carboxylic acid having an oxidation reaction step for producing a slurry of an aromatic carboxylic acid by carrying out liquid-phase oxidation reaction of an alkyl aromatic compound with an oxygen-containing gas in a solvent containing acetic acid in the presence of an oxidation catalyst, at least a portion of a mixture containing acetic acid and water produced in the production steps is separated into a permeable gas mainly comprising water and nonpermeable substances mainly comprising acetic acid, using a separation membrane having water selectivity.

摘要: There is provided a printing apparatus for printing on a continuous tape. When a portion of a continuous tape having passed a thermal head is cut at a predetermined cutting position, a stepping motor is caused to stop driving the platen roller for rotation to stop feeding of the tape, and then the tape is cut off. During tape-cutting operation, the stepping motor is held in an energized state. When the printing operation is resumed after stopping the feeding and printing of the tape, the thermal head is caused to print on a portion of the tape printed by an immediately preceding printing operation by the thermal head, in an overlapping manner, by the use of identical printing data or printing data for a next line of dots.

摘要: A process of gasifying waste containing organic substances which may be combusted or gasified by means of partial oxidation in the presence of air or oxygen and steam. The gasification process includes the step of adjusting the molar ratio of steam/carbon (H.sub.2 O/C) for supplied steam and the organic substances containing carbon to a desired ratio. The process continues with partial oxidation at about 700.degree. C. to about 900.degree. C. and discontinuing the steam supply while continuing only air or oxygen supply to combust the remaining combustibles having carbon as their major component.

摘要: A power steering system which includes a fluid source that supplies pressure fluid of a constant flow rate, a fluid motor for supplementing manual steering torque, a servo-valve for distributing fluid to the fluid motor, and a reaction device for applying hydraulic reaction or feeling to a steering wheel. A magnetic pressure control valve is connected to the reaction device to control fluid pressure applied thereto in accordance with a vehicle operating condition, such a vehicle speed. A flow dividing valve serves to divide the pressure fluid of a constant flow rate in a predetermined ratio into first and second flows which are respectively directed to the servo-valve and reaction device. The predetermined ratio is varied such that the flow rate of the fluid supplied to the reaction device increases as the pressure of the fluid supplied to the fluid motor increases.

摘要: A boiler-equipped absorption heat pump unit in which a regenerator, a boiler, and other high-temperature devices are separated from an evaporator, an absorber, and other low-temperature devices are separated by an insulated dividing wall. The dividing wall reduces heat loss by impeding the transfer of heat from the high-temperature devices to the low-temperature devices.
