摘要: In a wireless communication system, user equipments (UEs) may be partitioned into different groups, e.g. based on spatial separation. UEs may use multiple access (MA) signatures that have low or no correlation to each other if the UEs are in the same group. The MA signatures used by one group of UEs may be more correlated with the MA signatures used by another group of UEs. If the UEs are partitioned into the different groups based on spatial separation, then the spatial separation between the different groups may assist in increasing the reliability of detection if two UEs in different groups use correlated MA signatures.

摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed for performing combined grant-free and grant-based UL resource allocation. In a particular embodiment, a network entity sends a first type of UL transmission resource assignment selected from two types of UL transmission resource assignment mechanisms to a UE for grant-free transmission and a second type of UL transmission resource assignment from two types of UL transmission resource assignment mechanism to a UE for grant based transmission. The network entity then receives a first data transmission from the UE for grant free transmission using an assigned transmission resource and a second data transmission from the UE for grant based transmission using an assigned transmission resources. Other embodiments pertain to changing the resource allocation scheme from grant free to grant based for a UE, or vice versa. Examples reasons for doing so may include HARQ re-transmissions.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for signaling for semi-static configuration in grant free uplink transmissions. Radio resource control (RRC) signaling is used to provide information from a base station to a user equipment (UE) that configure the grant free transmission resource to be used by the UE. In some implementations, the RRC signaling may be used in conjunction with system information that is transmitted to all UEs and/or Downlink Control Information (DCI) that the UE needs to access subsequent to the RRC signaling. In some implementations, the DCI includes an activation or deactivation indicator that the UE monitors to determine when the UE is allowed to transmit to the BS or should stop transmitting. Implementations allow for grant free transmission resources to be configured on an individual user based and a group basis.

摘要: System and methods are disclosed in which pilots are used to assist in identifying grant-free uplink transmissions originating from the same UE. In one embodiment, a base station receives a grant-free uplink transmission that carries initial data from a user equipment and an initial pilot. The initial pilot is successfully decoded and the initial data is unsuccessfully decoded. The successfully decoded initial pilot and the unsuccessfully decoded initial data are stored in memory. Another grant-free uplink transmission carrying retransmission data from the user equipment and a retransmission pilot is then received. The retransmission pilot is successfully decoded and used to identify the successfully decoded initial pilot in the memory and the unsuccessfully decoded initial data. The retransmission data and the unsuccessfully decoded initial data are used to successfully decode the initial data.
