摘要: In systems and methods of allocating carriers in a wireless communication network, a plurality of wireless devices in communication with an access node is ranked in a first ranking according to a required data rate of each wireless device. A carrier metric is determined for each of a plurality of carriers of the access node according to an actual data rate of each of the carriers and the required data rate of each wireless device, and each of the carriers is ranked in a second ranking for each of the plurality of wireless devices according to the determined carrier metric of each of the plurality of carriers. A first wireless device is selected from the first ranking, and a carrier from the second ranking is allocated to the selected first wireless device when the carrier provides the required data rate of the selected first wireless device.

摘要: Application requirements of an application running on a wireless device are received. The wireless device is handed off from a first network to a second network when a first handoff criteria is met based on the application requirements, first network conditions, and second network conditions. A second network usage of the application is limited based on the application requirements and the second network conditions, and first network conditions are monitored while the application is running on the wireless device in communication with the second network. The wireless device is handed off from the second network to the first network when a second handoff criteria is met based on the application requirements, the first network conditions and the second network conditions.

摘要: In systems and methods of detecting a wireless device utilizing unauthorized tethering, a plurality of wireless devices in communication with an access node is detected, and a suspect device list of wireless devices which are not authorized for tethering is determined from among the plurality of detected wireless devices. An expected hop value is stored for each suspect device, a data packet is received from each suspect device, and a first hop value is determined for each suspect device. Based on a first comparison of the expected hop value and the first hop value at least one suspect device is identified as performing unauthorized tethering.

Based on a resource usage pattern of the at least one wireless device, at least one wireless device is removed from the suspect device list. For each wireless device remaining on the suspect device list a software indicator is examined, and a list of wireless devices performing unauthorized tethering is created based on the examined software indicators.

摘要: In systems and method of determining a reordering timer in a wireless communication network, when it is determined that a packet reordering of a plurality of data packets meets a reordering threshold, a handover probability that the wireless device will be handed over to a second access node is estimated based on a first congestion metric of the first access node and a second congestion metric of the second access node. The plurality of data packets is examined to determine application requirements of an application of the wireless device. Based on the handover probability, the application requirements and the second congestion metric, a reordering timer is determined for use by the second access node.
