Band-pass filters obtain a plurality of lowband subband signals from an input signal. A frequency envelope extracting circuit extracts a frequency envelope from the plurality of lowband subband signals obtained by the plurality of band-pass filters. A highband signal generating circuit generates highband signal components on the basis of the frequency envelope obtained by the frequency envelope extracting circuit, and the plurality of subband signals obtained by the band-pass filters. A frequency band extension apparatus extends the frequency band of the input signal on the basis of the highband signal components generated by the highband signal generating circuit.

摘要： The present invention relates to a frequency band extension apparatus and method, an encoding apparatus and method, a decoding apparatus and method, and a program, with which a music signal can be reproduced with higher sound quality by means of frequency band extension.Band-pass filters 13 obtain a plurality of subband signals from an input signal. A frequency envelope extracting circuit 14 extracts a frequency envelope from the plurality of subband signals obtained by the plurality of band-pass filters. A highband signal generating circuit 15 generates highband signal components on the basis of the frequency envelope obtained by the frequency envelope extracting circuit 14, and the plurality of subband signals obtained by the band-pass filters 13. A frequency band extension apparatus 10 extends the frequency band of the input signal on the basis of the highband signal components generated by the highband signal generating circuit 15. The present invention can be applied to, for example, a frequency band extension apparatus, an encoding apparatus, a decoding apparatus, and the like.

A decoding high band sub-band power calculation circuit calculates decoded high band sub-band powers for the respective high band sub-bands based on low band signals and the coefficient table, and a decoded high band signal production unit produces decoded high band signals from these decoded high band sub-band powers. At this time, an extension and reduction unit newly produces or deletes coefficients of the coefficient table for the respective sub-bands to correspond to the number of sub-bands of the calculated decoded high band sub-band powers, thereby to extend or reduce the coefficient table. The present invention can be applied to a decoder.

The signal processing comprises demultiplexing input encoded data into data including information for a segment including frames and coefficient information for a coefficient selected in the frames of the segment, and low band encoded data, decoding the low band encoded data to produce a low band signal, selecting a coefficient of a frame to be processed from a plurality of the coefficients based on the data, calculating a high band sub-band power of a high band sub-band signal of each sub-band constituting a high band signal of the frame to be processed based on a low band sub-band signal of each sub-band constituting the low band signal of the frame to be processed and the selected coefficient, and producing the high band signal of the frame to be processed based on the high band sub-band power and the low band sub-band signal.

In this case, for each frame, a coefficient used in estimation of the high band component is selected and the section to be processed is divided into continuous frame segments including continuous frames from which the coefficient with the same section to be processed is selected. In addition, high band encoded data is produced which includes data including information indicating a length of each continuous frame segment, information indicating the number of continuous frame segments included in the section to be processed and a coefficient index indicating the coefficient selected in each continuous frame segment. The present invention is applicable to the encoder.

A pseudo high band sub-band power difference calculation circuit compares high band sub-band powers and the pseudo high band sub-band powers to each other and selects a coefficient table from plural coefficient tables. In addition, a coefficient index which specifies the coefficient table is encoded and set as high band encoded data. The present invention can be applied to an encoder.
