摘要： An improved video signal recording and reproducing apparatus for a digital video cassette tape recorder by which it is possible to divide, record and reproduce a digital video signal on a low density video tape into multiple tracks based on the amount of data recordable on one track of a high density video tape by controlling a recording/reproducing speed and a tape running speed in accordance with a judgement of the type of the video tape having a predetermined recordable wavelength. The apparatus includes a detector for detecting the type of the video tape in accordance with a recordable wavelength of the video tape, a judgement section for judging the type of the tape by receiving a detected tape type signal from the detector, and a controller for controlling a recording and reproducing speed in accordance with the judged tape type.

摘要： A video signal recording and reproducing apparatus for a digital video cassette tape recorder by which it is possible to judge the transmission amount of the digital data inputted from a digital source, the type of the video tape, and whether or not the tape is recorded in accordance with the judgment result, for thus automatically controlling a recording mode and a reproducing mode, which includes a tape type detector for judging a tape type in accordance with a recordable wavelength of the video tape on which a digital signal is recorded; a data rate detector for detecting and judging a data transfer rate of a digital signal, and a controller for varying a recording or reproducing speed in accordance with the judged tape type and the data transfer rate of the digital signal.

摘要： An apparatus and a method for discriminating between analog and digital video signals in a high definition VCR are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a playback amplification circuit for amplifying a video signal recorded on a tape played back by a head when a playback mode is selected by the user, a signal detection circuit for detecting a signal from an output signal from the playback amplification circuit, the detected signal being indicative of whether the video signal recorded on the tape is analog or digital, a mode switching control circuit for discriminating in response to an output signal from the signal detection circuit whether the video signal recorded on the tape is analog or digital and outputting a mode switching control signal in accordance with the discriminated result, a switch being switched in response to the mode switching control signal from the mode switching control circuit, and analog and digital playback circuits for playback-processing the output signal from the playback amplification circuit under the control of the switch.

摘要： This invention relates to automatic tracking devices of digital VCRs which is provided to have a capability of precise control of the tracking by detecting rate of error due to variation of tracking of a rotating head. The devices comprise a pre-amplification part for amplifying reproduction signals scanned at a rotating head of a head drum to any level in reproduction, a modulation and demodulation part for restoring amplified reproduction signals in the pre-amplification part into digital signals, a format and deformat part for arraying the digital signals restored in the modulation and demodulation part to original signals, an error correction part for detecting presence of errors caused during recording in the digital signals arrayed by the format and deformat part and generating correctable and incorrectable control signals according to the rate of error detected, and an automatic tracking control part for controlling the tracking through a servo system by generating tracking data according to the rates of error obtained through addition of different weightings to each of the control signals transmitted thereto from the error correction part.
