摘要: A plasma display apparatus and a driving method of a plasma display panel are provided. This may include a plasma display panel having a plurality of scan electrodes and sustain electrodes, and a plurality of address electrodes formed to intersect with the plurality of scan electrodes and sustain electrodes. A driving unit/circuit may drive the scan electrodes, the sustain electrodes, and the address electrodes to allow a voltage difference between the scan electrode and the sustain electrode or a voltage difference between the scan electrode and the address electrode during an address period at one or more subfields of a frame to be larger than a voltage difference between the scan electrode and the sustain electrode or a voltage difference between the scan electrode and the address electrode during the address period at other subfields.

摘要: A plasma display apparatus may be provided that reduces a noise generating in a waveform applied to a scan electrode or a sustain electrode and that stabilizes address discharge by improving applying time point of a waveform applied in an address period, so that driving stability of a panel may increase. The plasma display apparatus may include a plasma display panel in which a plurality of scan electrodes and a plurality of address electrodes intersecting the scan electrodes are formed, and a data driver dividing the address electrode into a plurality of electrode groups, corresponding to a scan waveform applied to the scan electrode, and the data driver applying an address waveform to one address electrode group, and the address waveform having an applying time point that is different from an applying time point of the scan waveform.

摘要: A plasma display apparatus and a driving method of the same are provided. The plasma display apparatus comprises a plasma display panel comprising a scan electrode, a sustain electrode and an address electrode; a first controller for controlling an application time point of the data pulse for the address electrode during address period to be different from an application time point of a scan pulse for the scan electrode; and a second controller for controlling a last sustain pulse applied to at least one of the scan electrode and the sustain electrode, wherein the second controller controls, when the temperature in the plasma display panel or the temperature around the plasma display panel is substantially a high temperature, an interval between the application time point of the last sustain pulse and an initialization signal of a next subfield to be longer than the interval in room temperature.

摘要: The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus, and more particularly to a plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof, which are capable of preventing an afterimage-generating wrong discharge when a plasma display panel is driven. Provided is a plasma display apparatus, including: a plasma display panel on which a plurality of sustain electrode pairs, each including a scan electrode and a sustain electrode, are formed; a driver driving each sustain electrode pair; and a driving pulse controller which controls the driver to sequentially apply a first falling waveform and a second falling waveform to the scan electrode and to apply a positive waveform to the sustain electrode while applying the first falling waveform, in a reset period. In accordance with the present invention, it is possible to prevent afterimage-generating woring discharge by improving the structure of a plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof. In accordance with the present invention, it is possbiel to prevent spots from being created on a displayed single color pattern by improving the structure of a plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof.

The driver supplies a ramp-up signal in which a voltage gradually rises to the first electrode in a setup period of a reset period, supplies a ramp-down signal in which a voltage gradually falls to the first electrode in a set down period after the setup period, and supplies at least one reset stabilization signal to the first electrode in a period before the ramp-down signal is supplied after the ramp-up signal is supplied.

摘要: The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus, and more particularly, to a plasma display apparatus and driving method thereof, in which an afterimage erroneous discharge generated when the apparatus is driven can be prevented and damage to driving circuits can be prevented. The plasma display apparatus of the present invention comprises a plasma display panel in which a plurality of sustain electrode pairs comprising scan electrodes and sustain electrodes is formed, a driver for driving the sustain electrode pairs, and a driving pulse controller that controls the driver to sequentially apply first and second falling waveforms to the scan electrodes during a reset period, and controls the driver to apply a positive waveform whose voltage level is less than the voltage level of a sustain waveform to the sustain electrodes while the first falling waveform is applied. According to the present invention, an afterimage erroneous discharge can be prevented. Spots in an implemented monochromatic pattern can be improved. A distortion phenomenon of a display screen can be prevented. Hardware load cam be reduced by reducing EMI generating when a plasma display apparatus is driven. In addition, a complementary afterimage of implemented images can be prevented.
