Abstract: An imaging system includes a first imager, a second imager, and an aiming assembly. The aiming assembly is configured to selectively output light having at least one of a first pattern or a second pattern, where the light having the first pattern intersects a first imaging axis of the first imager and the light having the second pattern intersects a second imaging axis of the second imager. The aiming assembly defines a first light pathway that is common to the light for the first pattern and the second pattern and defines second and third light pathways. The light travels from the first light pathway along the second light pathway to selectively output the first pattern and travels from the first light pathway along the third light pathway to selectively output the second pattern.

The imaging system includes a lens holder and at least one lens disposed within the lens holder and both a far imaging system and a near imaging system for capturing images across multiple fields of view at different distances. The illumination system and aiming system are physically positioned to provide illumination of a target in the near and/or far fields of view, and provide an aiming pattern to the near and/or far fields of view.

Abstract: A scan engine for capturing images of an object appearing in an imaging field of view (FOV) includes a chassis including a chassis body defining at least one confined volume, an adhesive material, and an aiming system that generates a cosmetic pattern to assist with identifying the FOV. The chassis body includes a chassis mounting portion and a redirecting region that at least partially surrounds the chassis mounting portion. The adhesive material is disposable on the chassis mounting portion. The aiming system is at least partially disposed within the at least one cavity of the body and extends along a longitudinal axis in a first direction. At least a portion of the aiming system engages the adhesive material to be at least partially retained within the at least one confined volume of the body. Upon directing electromagnetic radiation towards the at least one confined volume, the redirecting region redirects the electromagnetic radiation towards the adhesive material to initiate a curing process.
