Abstract: Provided in embodiments of the present disclosure are a method and a device for bearing a multicast virtual private network. The method includes: assigning, by a BFIR accessing a VRF, a global VPN identifier to a multicast VRF, and carrying the global VPN identifier to notify a route to a BFER accessing the multicast VRF; after receiving a packet of the multicast VRF, encapsulating, by the BFIR, the packet with a BIER header and forwarding the packet, the forwarded packet carrying the global VPN identifier.

Abstract: A method and system for reducing changes in a designated router (DR) of a protocol independent multicast (PIM) protocol are disclosed. The method includes: after a PIM device joins a shared network, an interface of the PIM device receiving a Hello message sent by other PIM device in the shared network, wherein the Hello message carries a DR address option; and the interface of the PIM device using a currently used DR address carried in the Hello message as a DR address of the interface.

Abstract: Backup Designated Router (BDR) election and Designated Router (DR) failure processing methods and equipment are provided. When a user joins, a BDR in a subnetwork completes a preparation for forwarding multicast traffic for the user, but does not forward the multicast traffic through an interface; and when detecting that a DR in the subnetwork fails, the BDR is switched to be a DR in the subnetwork, and forwards the multicast traffic for the user through the interface.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a network logical layering method based on Routing In Fat Tree (RIFT) protocol, a network logical layering device, a network device and a storage medium. By exchanging Link Information Element (LIE) packets and Topology Information Element (TIE) packets with other devices, a network device can enable the other devices in the network to know a topology supported by the present device and to know neighbor information and Metric information of the present device in the supported topology, and the network device can also know the topologies supported by the other devices in the network and the neighbor information and the Metric information of the other devices in the corresponding topologies. Thus, the device can calculate a topology route corresponding to the topology supported thereby.
