Abstract: An absorbent body in which a larger amount of a granular absorbent substance penetrates into the inside of a fiber sheet is produced. A fiber sheet having napped one main surface is supplied to a conveying device and conveyed while the other main surface of the fiber sheet is being sucked through a conveyance surface. A granular absorbent substance is sprayed onto the napped one main surface of the fiber sheet to cause the substance to penetrate into the inside of the fiber sheet in a suction section. A pressure difference increasing device is provided that faces the one main surface of the fiber sheet sprayed with the absorbent substance and being conveyed in the suction section, and that suppresses air from flowing through the fiber sheet inward from the conveyance surface to increase the pressure difference between the conveyance surface side and the opposite side of the fiber sheet.

Abstract: The front part and the rear part of a diaper main body are each attracted by a first belt and a second belt arranged so as to separate from each other as the first belt and the second belt move to the downstream side of the conveying path. The diaper main body is attracted by the first belt only in a range other than a non-attracting range thereof covering from a crease to a prescribed position in a longitudinal direction. When the respective belts are moved, the front part and the rear part of the diaper main body are separated from each other in a state in which the diaper main body separates from the first belt in the non-attracting range. Then, respective side panels are folded inward between the front part and the rear part of the diaper main body that separate from each other.

Abstract: The method of the present invention includes the steps of: arranging a plurality of non-continuous sheets of a predetermined length intermittently and successively in the conveyance direction on the continuous sheet so that the continuous elastic members are sandwiched between the non-continuous sheets and the continuous sheet; in an overlapping area where the non-continuous sheets overlap with the continuous sheet, attaching the continuous sheet and the non-continuous sheets to each other by welding the sheets to each other in a predetermined pattern, thus producing a continuous laminate; and in a non-overlapping area where the non-continuous sheets do not overlap with the continuous sheet, heating the continuous sheet in the same pattern as said pattern.

Abstract: Partly-finished products having side panel pieces are supplied intermittently to places between welding surfaces of a horn and a rotating anvil. Thus, the side pieces of the partly-finished products, are welded continuously to each other with a predetermined pattern. The welding surfaces of the anvil are provided over an entire circumference about a rotating shaft so that the interval between the welding surfaces of the anvil and the horns is maintained at an interval at which the respective side panel pieces are continuously weldable to each other with the predetermined pattern regardless of a rotating position of the anvil.

Abstract: The invention relates to positioning of shaping rolls and makes it possible the rapid formation of a large number of fine three-dimensional shapes on a sheet material. A pair of shaping rolls that are parallel to each other include, on circumferential surfaces thereof, recessed and protruding shapes that mesh with each other at a face-to-face position.
