    摘要: A scroll compressor and assembly includes a suction duct to direct refrigerant from the housing inlet to a location upstream of a motor. Additionally, the suction duct includes drain ports that act to drain oil received in the suction duct into the oil sump. This can be used for filling and charging the oil sump with oil initially by using the common refrigerant inlet port through the housing and also acts to collect coalesced oil from oil mist generated by operation of the scroll compressor in a refrigeration system and likewise drain the lubricant oil into the lubricant sump.

To guide the orbital movement, a Oldham key coupling is provided that may include four keys spaced in separate quadrants for guiding movement of the scroll compressor body along a linear translational path along a lateral axis. Additionally, running clearances may be unequally and non-symmetrically arranged so as to prevent unwanted rotation of one of the scroll compressor bodies and thereby prevent unwanted edge loading.

    摘要: A bearing material composition that lines a support includes a combination of a thermoplastic conforming material and abrasive particles which provide a combined effect for remedying the effects due to edge loading that may be caused by misalignment between the bearing and a shaft to which a portion is rotatably mounted. The conforming material may be PTFE such that it does not have a memory and is subject to cold flow and creep. As a result, misalignment problems and edge loading are remedied by the combination of abrasive removal of metal material from the drive shaft at the location of edge loading and creep of the conforming material at the location of edge loading which may provide an overall greater bearing interface surface.

    摘要: A scroll compressor includes scroll compressor bodies with axial tip seals projecting from the respective scroll ribs of fixed and movable scroll compressor bodies. An extended thrust region is provided in surrounding relation to an inner axial tip sealing region to provide for carrying thrust loads in the event that the scroll compressor bodies are forced axially together. Part of the thrust region may carry a tip seal, while another part may be free of a tip seal. This provides for at least a nominal reverse operation capability.

    摘要: A scroll compressor having a first compressor body with a first base, a first rib that projects from the first base, and a discharge port. A second compressor body has a second base and a second rib projecting from the second base. The first and second ribs are mutually received in each other to define at least one compression chamber between an intake and discharge port. The relative movement between the first and second compressor bodies is adapted to compress fluid from the intake to the discharge port. The scroll compressor further includes a tip seal projecting axially from the second rib. The tip seal is adapted to engage the first base to seal the compression chamber. The discharge port includes an inward-facing radius, which enables the length of the tip seal in the vicinity of the discharge port to be greater than it would be without the inward-facing radius.
