    摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for controlling the response of a seismic vibrator during its actuation period. The sweep input signal is modified in response to an average of the force applied to the earth by the vibrator over at least one cycle of the sweep signal. Additionally, this modified drive signal may be further adjusted by selective adjustment of the amplitude of the signal within selected frequency ranges.

The apparatus further includes a display unit for indicating the voltage signal generated, which is representative of the resilient characteristics of the geophone springs, characterizing the position of the geophone coil and its resonant frequency.

    摘要: A totally pneumatic crane warning system is disclosed capable of use in oil well environments. The crane warning system utilizes a pneumatic function generator. The pneumatic function generator includes a means for receiving a linear pneumatic signal that may be representative of a boom angle and translating that signal to a non-linear output representative of the maximum load capacity of the crane at that angle. This function is accomplished through the use of a rolling cam machined to represent the functional relationship between the boom angle and the maximum load capacity at that angle. This relationship has been found to be non-linear in nature. A pneumatic control circuit is utilized in conjunction with the rolling cam to effect the pneumatic output signal that is representative of the maximum load capacity at a given boom angle. The crane warning system is further provided with a means for comparing the maximum load signal with the actual load of the crane and actuating a pneumatic warning device when the actual weight exceeds the maximum load capacity output of the function generator.

    摘要: A method of seismic exploration and a system which provides the capability for increasing the number of depth points from which seismic data are acquired are disclosed. This increase in data is realized without increasing the number of recording channels or the number of geophone stations employed in the system. A higher common depth point multiplicity is achieved by separating energy sources in relation to geophone stations. The recording system is capable of automatically sorting out the data from different energy sources and storing it in different blocks of a memory. Since substantially all available recording time is fully utilized by using energy sources to their optimum efficiency, higher common-depth-point multiplicity can be achieved with minimum field costs.

    摘要: An improved seismic array is disclosed having a plurality of seismic detector connection points with a seismic detector at each seismic detector connection point. The output of each seismic detector in the array is weighted by providing first resistive weighting at each seismic detector connection point. The weighted output of all detectors in the array is provided to a first end of the array over a single pair of wires. An amplifier is additionally provided for connection to the pair of wires at the first end of the array, and the amplifier has feedback network, including a resistor. The ratio of the value of the resistance in the feedback network to the value of the weighting resistor at a seismic detector connection point determines the magnitude of the signal appearing at the output of the amplifier from the response from the seismic detector at that point. An array having bi-directional capabilities is achieved by providing second resistive weighting to the output of each seismic detector in the array and by providing a second pair of wires which interconnects this second weighted output of the detectors and which emerges from the second end of the array. A second amplifier is coupled to the pair of wires at the second end of the array, and this amplifier also has a feedback network including a resistor. The ratio of the value of the feedback resistor to the value of the second resistive weight at each seismic detector connection point determines the magnitude of the signal appearing at the output of the second amplifier from the response of the seismic detector at the seismic detector connection point. Chebychev weighting of the array response may be achieved by proper choice of the values of the feedback resistors and the weighting resistors at each seismic detector connection point.

    摘要: An improved seismic array and method of seismic exploration are provided which have the capability to supply data to separate recording stations simultaneously. The seismic array has a plurality of seismic detector connection points, and a seismic detector is located at each seismic detector connection point. The outputs of the seismic detectors are electrically isolated from each other, and weighting may be applied to the output of each seismic detector in the array. Two signal-carrying media are also provided in the array, and the weighted outputs of the seismic detectors are conveyed to the first end of the array over one signal-carrying medium and to the second end of the array over the second signal-carrying medium. A Chebychev weighted array is achieved by a proper selection of weighting.

    摘要: A clamping apparatus for locking tools in a well is disclosed. A first piston sealably engages a hollow body member to form a chamber, which is filled with a working fluid. A bias member or spring moves the first piston, extending a clamping arm connected to the first piston against the well wall. A second piston is sealably engaged in a bore in the first piston; the bore is in fluid communication with the chamber. The second piston is driven into the bore by a motor, increasing the pressure in the chamber through a passage in the first piston between the bore and the chamber. This increased pressure further urges the first piston and locks the clamping arm against the well wall. The hydraulic pressure is released, and the clamping arm is unlocked, by opening a valve in a line between the chamber and a reservoir. The clamping arm is retracted by driving the second piston into the bore into contact with the first piston, forcing the first piston back against the spring.
