An ink jet cartridge lid has a body having a first planar side and a second planar side opposite the first side. The first side has a raised portion having a first angled end wall and a second angled end wall. A third, side wall and a fourth, side wall each connect the first end wall to the second end wall of the lid. The lid is installed onto an ink jet cartridge having an open-ended cavity and a foam insert disposed therein.
Abstract:
An ink cartridge has a body having a stepped configuration including a first top wall and a second top wall, wherein the second top wall is lower than the first top wall. A lid has a first position selectively secured to the first top wall and a second portion is secured to the second top wall which forms a ledge for removing the cartridge from a printer. Alternately, a tab extends from a surface of the lid for removing the cartridge from a printhead. Another alternative is indentations formed in the lid and side walls of the cartridge for manually gripping the cartridge for removal from a printhead.
Abstract:
An ink cartridge having a one-piece housing including a plurality of walls to form a chamber for receiving ink. The housing is formed of a blow-molded plastic material. An outlet passage extends from a bottom wall communicating with the chamber. A seal and cap assembly are secured to the outlet passage. A vent opening is provided in a top wall. The vent includes a porous member and a cap to secure the porous member within the vent. The housing is fully filled with ink. The housing allows for the use of pigmented ink since no foam reservoir is provided.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a dry toner powder containing a wax component and formed using a limited coalescence suspension polymerization process. Both conventional and aqueous dispersed waxes may be used to form the toner particles. Likewise, both dry and aqueous dispersed pigments may be used. The resulting toner provides properties desired in the next generation of toners including small uniform particle size as well as desirable anti-blocking and high-temperature anti-offset properties.

A transport protector for protecting an inkjet cartridge wherein the inkjet cartridge includes a cartridge body, an inkwell extending from the cartridge body and a nozzle on the inkwell. The protector including a protector body shaped to receive at least a portion of the inkjet cartridge and including a section to allow UV radiation to penetrate the protector body and cure a UV sensitive material on the inkjet cartridge.

An ink reservoir bag of flexible, plastic sheet material for an ink delivery system for an ink cartridge is constructed of two sheets of plastic material having peripheral edges bonded together to provide an ink chamber therebetween and has separate fill and exit ports opening into the chamber and respectively defined by a fill tube and an exit tube bonded to the bag between the peripheral edges thereof. Flexible tubing is connected to the exit port through a check valve interposed between the port and tubing, and a lure lock is interconnected with the fill tube to provide an injection sight for filling the bag. The bag is filled by connecting the tubing to a vacuum source, evacuating air from the bag and tubing, connecting the fill port to a source of ink and using the negative pressure to draw ink into the bag and tubing.
