Abstract: A system and method for safe use of an optics assembly with an external light source and an optically coupled optics module is disclosed. The system includes an external light module emitting a continuous wave laser through an output port. An optics module has an input port and a memory. The optics module generates a modulated optical signal. The memory stores the power level of the continuous wave laser signal received by the optics module. An optical jumper is provided for coupling the output port with the input port. A communication bus is coupled between a controller and the external light source module. The controller sets the external light source at a low power level and transitions the external light source to a high power level when the stored power level of the continuous wave laser signal received by the optics module exceeds a predetermined level.

Abstract: A cold plate for cooling a heat-generating component in a computer system is disclosed. The cold plate includes a base member having an exterior surface for contact with the heat-generating component. The cold plate has a supply chamber defined by a supply end, and an opposite collection chamber defined by a collection end. A supply tube includes an inlet having a cross section area that is smaller than the cross section area of an outlet. The outlet is in communication with the supply chamber. A collection tube includes an inlet having a cross section area that is larger than the cross section area of an outlet. The inlet is in fluid communication with the collection chamber.

Abstract: An extendible bay for an expansion card includes a base, an electrical connector, and an extender bracket. The base defines an interior space that is sized to receive at least a portion of the expansion card therein, and has an elongated shape with a first end and an opposing second end. The electrical connector is coupled to the base and is configured to electrically connect with a corresponding electrical connector of the expansion card. The extender bracket is slidably coupled to the first end of the base and is movable relative to the base such that the length of the extendible bay between the extender bracket and the second end of the base is adjustable to match a length of the expansion card.

Abstract: A radiator apparatus and a radiator assembly include a plurality of radiators stacked together such that a fluid passing through the radiator apparatus passes through each radiator of the plurality of radiators. Each radiator has fins spanning across a thickness of the radiator. The fins define channels for the fluid to flow through the radiator. The channels have respective orientations in the plurality of radiators. The orientations of the channels in adjacent radiators differ such that a direction of the fluid passing through the plurality of radiators changes between adjacent radiators.

Abstract: An adjustable cable clip is disclosed. The cable clip includes a base, a first strap, and a second strap. The first strap is coupled to the base. Abstract: A computing system includes a computing tray for receiving a computing device; a latch attached to the computing tray for releasing the computing tray during installation or removal operations; and a lock assembly for preventing accidental release of the computing tray. The lock assembly includes a fixed bracket having two fixed sides, one of the fixed sides being a mounting side attached to the computing tray near the latch; and a movable bracket having two movable sides attached respectively to the two fixed sides. The movable bracket is adjustable relative to the fixed bracket between a releasing position and a secured position. The movable bracket allows the latch to release the computing tray in the releasing position, and the movable bracket physically blocks the latch from releasing the computing tray in the secured position.

Abstract: A computing system includes a BIOS, a BMC coupled to the BIOS, and one or more hardware components. The BMC can receive commands from a user, and transition between a locked state and an unlocked state. When the BMC is in the unlocked state, the BMC responds to commands received from the user. When the BMC is in the locked state, the BMC ignores commands received from the user. The BMC is configured to receive an unlock command from a user that includes an unlock signature. The BMC is further configured to determine whether the unlock signature is authentic. If the unlock signature is authentic and the BMC is in the locked state, the BMC is configured to transition from the locked state to the unlocked state, to allow the user access to the hardware components of the computing system.

Abstract: A server chassis includes a baseboard, a power distribution board, and a busbar module. The baseboard includes a front end and a rear end. The chassis-side busbar connector is configured to mate with a rack-side busbar connector. The rack-side busbar connector is positioned on a rack having a rack depth. The busbar module is adjustable, such that the chassis-side busbar connector mates with the rack-side busbar connector in a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the rack depth is approximately equal to the chassis depth. In the second configuration, the rack depth is greater than the chassis depth.
