Abstract: A tattooing gun is described for use in tattooing the ears or noses of animals. The gun includes a spring-loaded driving shaft which is movable between cocked and uncocked positions. A driving link mechanism connects the driving shaft to the tattooing needles and needle support so that movement of the driving shaft from its cocked to uncocked positions causes the tattooing needles to be driven forwardly through a muzzle plate into the animal's ear or nose. Tattooing paste or the like is then rubbed on the wound caused by the tattooing needles.

Abstract: An insecticide impregnated tag is described which may be used on either the animal's tail or leg to control files, grubs, etc. The tag comprises a flat flexible member which is impregnated with the insecticide and which has a flexible strap secured thereto. The strap is adapted to be wrapped around and secured to the animal's tail or leg. When the tag is attached to the animal's tail, the whipping of the tail by the animal will control insects on the animal's hindquarters, rump and back. When the tag is attached to the animal's leg adjacent the hoof, the insecticide in the tag will control those insects normally found in the area adjacent the animal's hooves.

Abstract: An animal ear tag comprising a flat identification area having at least one flat strap extending therefrom adapted to be connected to the animal's ear. An insecticide impregnated flat member is detachably secured to at least one side of the flat identification area. In the preferred embodiment, a shoulder extends outwardly from the flat identification area around the periphery of the flat member to prevent the flat member from being inadvertently detached therefrom. In the preferred embodiment, a plurality of spaced apart pegs extend outwardly from the flat identification area within the area defined by the shoulder. The flat member has a plurality of openings formed therein which detachably receive the pegs. The insecticide impregnated flat member may be easily replaced when the insecticide in the flat member has lost its potency.

Abstract: An animal ear tag comprising a flat identification area having a pair of flat supporting arms or straps extending therefrom in a parallel spaced-apart relationship and adapted to receive the animal's ear therebetween. Each of the supporting arms has an opening formed therein adjacent the end thereof which are adapted to receive a pin extending through the openings and the animal's ear positioned therebetween to maintain the tag on the animal's ear. The flat identification area has a peripheral visual acuity border formed thereon spaced inwardly from the periphery thereof which has the same color as the identifying indicia on the identification area.
