摘要： A device configured to collect and dispel pinecones is provided. The device includes a handle, and a collecting head. The collecting head includes a plurality of prongs extending outwardly from an outer surface of the head. A sliding block having a plurality of holes configured to receive a corresponding prong is slidingly attached to the shaft. A biasing member having one end fixedly attached to the shaft and the other end attached to the sliding block continuously urges the sliding block against the head so as to allow the prongs to protrude through the respective holes. Accordingly, the device is configured to stick a plurality of pinecones wherein the sliding block may be pushed so as to displace the sliding block forward of the head pushing the pinecones off the prongs and into the receptacle.

摘要： A leaf grapple for grabbing and lifting a pile of leaves or other loose debris is disclosed. The leaf grapple includes a basket at the end of a handle. The basket has multiple sections, each section being movably attached at the top to a first spider and, some distance away from the top, pivotably attached to a second spider. An actuating rod is assembled in the handle. The first spider is attached to the end of the actuating rod; the second spider is attached to the end of the handle. Pushing on the handle forces the first spider downward, which forces the top portions of the grapple sections downward. The grapple sections pivot about the lower ends of the second spider, which causes the grapple sections to open. Pulling up on the actuating rod forces the grapple sections to close.

摘要： A debris removal tool having a pair of opposing pivoting blades each having a shape providing light weight and inexpensive manufacture. The blade is a continuous, smooth curve from a straight lower edge to an arcuate, generally semi-circular, upper edge. The outer corners of the upper edges of opposing, complementary blades are pivotally connected to define a pivot axis therebetween. When the blades close, their straight sides and straight lower edge mate, to form a closed bottom, somewhat upright cone shape with a straight bottom edge fully enclosing the debris. The lower edge of each blade is parallel to the pivot axis and may include serrations to enhance grasping of debris. Reinforcing gussets and handle retaining bosses may be provided in the blade to retain the handles and maintain tool rigidity while remaining light in weight.

摘要： A set of firefighting tools for use in fighting forest fires and the like in different types of terrain and vegetation. A brightly colored elongate handle of fiber-reinforced synthetic material is equipped with a releasably latching connector, and several different tool heads are attachable to the handle to perform various functions. One head has a pivotably attached shovel blade and is useful as a shovel, as a scraper or as a rake. Also associated with this head is a selectively foldable mixing spoon which may be extended opposite the shovel blade. Another tool head has oppositely directed axe and grub hoe blades and is useful as an axe, a brush hook, or a grub hoe. Yet a further tool head has several flexible straps for beating out fires. An extension member of metal pipe is provided to make the handle useful as a staff when traveling on steep and rough terrain. A backpack includes separate pockets for carrying each of the tool heads individually, as well as other pockets for carrying other items needed by a firefighter walking to the locality of a forest fire or the like.

The apparatus comprises a storage section, a gathering section, a rim and an elongated handle. The storage section is shaped like an open basket on its side and having a top and a bottom. The gathering section extends from the bottom of the storage section, comprises two barrier regions separated by a retaining region, and has a leading edge. The rim is attached at least to the leading edge. The handle projects upward from the top of the storage section at such an angle to permit a raking-like motion when collecting objects. Methods of using the apparatus are also disclosed. The invention offers several benefits over what has been known to the art. One advantage is that many soft objects can be gathered quickly with minimal stress to the back of the person doing the task. Another benefit is that soft objects can be gathered quickly with minimal damage to the objects. This is particularly useful when the objects are fruit such as, for example, apples, oranges or peaches.
