    摘要: A flute for a stalk roll has a sharp edge defined by the relationship of the leading surface and a leading wall. The flute is positioned on a main cylinder of said stalk roll having a leading surface having its base nearer the main cylinder and its top farther from the main cylinder, the leading wall, and a trailing wall. The leading wall extends perpendicular to and outward from said main cylinder. The base of the leading surface intersects the leading wall and travels upwardly to intersect with the trailing surface to form an edge. The angle between the leading wall and leading surface is thirty degrees.

    摘要: The invention relates to an attachment for attaching to a harvesting machine, comprising a number of picking devices (2) distributed adjacent to one another over the working width, said picking devices having at least a first and a second picking rotor (10a, 10b), which can be driven in counterrotation. The drawing edges (14) on the drawing bodies (12) on the first and second picking rotors (10a, 10b) are arranged in relation to one another in such a way that, during rotary movement of the first and second picking rotors (10a, 10b), two adjacent drawing edges (14) of the first picking rotor (10a) hold, in the range of action of said drawing edges into the downward movement path of a plant stalk (8), the plant stalk (8) temporarily against the drawing edges (14) of the second picking rotor (10b) preceding and lagging behind the two adjacent drawing edges (14) of the first picking rotor (10a) and clamp the plant stalk (8), by means of the four contact points (26) of the plant stalk (8), against the drawing edges (14) of the first and second picking rotors (10a, 10b) into an arc shape approximating the enveloping circle (16) of the first picking rotor (10a), and on the second picking rotor (10b) a knife blade (20) is arranged between the preceding and lagging drawing edges (14) of the second picking rotor (10a), which knife blade cuts into the outside of the plant stalk (8) clamped in an arc shape.

    摘要: A combine head and stalk roll retention shaft apparatus. The combine head may include a plurality of combine head row units. A drive system is provided to drive the row units and a stalk roll feeder; the feeder having a drive system to drive the feeder and feed corn stalks into at least one of the plurality of combine head row units. The stalk roll retention apparatus may be slidably attached proximate to the tip of the stalk roller shaft to reduce wear of the stalk rollers and guide the corn stalks into the row unit(s). The stalk roll retention shaft apparatus may include one more bearings. The stalk roll retention shaft apparatus may also include a cap or plug on the front of the apparatus.

The gearbox has a gearing assembly coupled to a rotatable shaft extending from an opening of the gearbox. Each row unit also has a stalk roll coupled to the rotatable shaft and a coupling interface comprising a self-aligning ball or roller bearing assembly. A support bracket is secured to the frame with the coupling interface operably coupling the stalk roll to the support bracket within a defined tolerable limit of misalignment.

    摘要: An adjustable row unit for a header of a combine harvester is disclosed. The row unit includes opposed and cooperating curved deck plates that reduce the distance from the upper surfaces of the deck plates to the stripping roll pinch points. The deck plates move in unison and the opening of the stalk receiving gap is variable and subject to coarse and fine adjustment. Coarse adjustment is achieved by moving the deck plates into a selected stalk receiving position and fine adjustment is performed by a yieldable biasing member when the deck plates are in the selected stalk receiving position.
