    Abstract: A crop intake device for an agricultural harvester includes a frame and a crop pickup unit, pivotably mounted to the frame. The crop pickup unit includes a rotatable reel, at least one support member, and first and second suspension springs. The reel has tines configured for picking up crop from a field. The support member is arranged for supporting the crop pickup unit on the field during use, and is pivotable relative to the reel for setting a minimum height of the tines by moving the reel between a lowered configuration and a raised configuration. A perpendicular distance between the first suspension spring and a pivot point of the crop pickup unit on the frame increases when moving the reel towards the raised configuration. A lifting torque provided by the second suspension spring on the crop pickup unit increases when moving the reel towards the raised configuration.

    Abstract: A harvesting header includes a header frame structured to be coupled to the crop-harvesting machine, a hydraulic pump carried by the header frame, at least one tool carried by the header frame, a hydraulic fluid loop carried by the header frame, a fluid inlet structured to receive hydraulic fluid from the crop-harvesting machine, and a fluid outlet structured to deliver hydraulic fluid to the crop-harvesting machine. The hydraulic fluid loop is structured to circulate hydraulic fluid within the header from the hydraulic pump to the tool(s) and back to the hydraulic pump. Related methods of operating a harvesting header and a non-transitory computer-readable media are also disclosed.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a ratooning rice harvesting header and a harvester including the same. The ratooning rice harvesting header includes a multi-layer adjustable disc cutter, a header, and an ear cutter. The multi-layer adjustable disc cutter is mounted below the header and located below a rear portion of the ear cutter. The ear cutter is mounted at a front end of the header. The multi-layer adjustable disc cutter includes at least one group of multi-layer disc cutting assemblies. Each group of multi-layer disc cutting assemblies includes two multi-layer disc cutting assemblies. Each of the multi-layer disc cutting assemblies includes three layers of vertically arranged blades. The use of the multi-layer adjustable disc cutter in cooperation with the ear cutter can reduce the straw-grain ratio of the part cut from the crops to reduce the power consumption of the harvester.

    Abstract: A crop stripper rotor includes a plurality of stripper teeth sections and backer plates secured to a central core by threaded fasteners. The stripper teeth sections have stripper teeth that project radially outwardly from a mounting base, and the backer plates have teeth that fit behind the stripper teeth. The stripper teeth sections and backer plates are sandwiched between opposing flanges of adjacent bent sheet metal sections of the central core. An alignment and mounting system includes a pair of alignment slots in each stripper teeth section and backer plate that open radially inwardly. A first pair of threaded fasteners mate with the alignment slots to set the depth and alignment of the stripper teeth sections and backer plates relative to the central core. A second pair of threaded fasteners are inserted through the aligned mounting bores of the stripper teeth sections and the backer plates to complete the assembly.

    Abstract: One or more information maps are obtained by an agricultural work machine. The one or more information maps map one or more agricultural characteristic values at different geographic locations of a field. An in-situ sensor on the agricultural work machine senses an agricultural characteristic as the agricultural work machine moves through the field. A predictive map generator generates a predictive map that predicts a predictive agricultural characteristic at different locations in the field based on a relationship between the values in the one or more information maps and the agricultural characteristic sensed by the in-situ sensor. The predictive map can be output and used in automated machine control.

    Abstract: A feeder housing for an agricultural harvester includes: a housing; a conveyor system disposed in the housing, the conveyor system including a drive shaft, at least one drive loop coupled to the drive shaft such that rotation of the drive shaft causes rotation of the at least one drive loop, and a plurality of crop grabbers coupled to the at least one drive loop; a rock beater disposed in the housing and including a rotatable beater roll and at least one fin carried by the beater roll; and a motor coupled to the beater roll and configured to rotate the beater roll. The motor is an electrically powered motor or a hydraulically powered motor. The motor is coupled to the beater roll such that the motor is configured to rotate the beater roll without rotating the drive shaft.
