摘要: Disclosed are a method and composition for controlling the sleep disturbing characteristics of caffeine-containing beverages which avoid the need for removing the caffeine. This is accomplished by including nicotinic acid or a soluble salt thereof in the beverage in an amount which is greater than that naturally present and which is effective to antagonize the sleep disturbing characteristics of the caffeine in the beverage.

摘要: The caffeine stimulation inhibitor that inhibits stimulation by combining the use of theanine extracted from tea leaves and/or a substance having theanine for its major active ingredient which is produced by extracting tea leaves with a solvent such as water, hot water or ethanol, chemical synthesis, microbial fermentation or plant tissue culturing. These active ingredients are able to inhibit the stimulatory action of caffeine without degrading the quality, such as the flavor and aroma, of caffeine-containing beverages and foods, allowing persons hypersensitive to caffeine to consume caffeine-containing beverages and foods without worry over its effects.

摘要: Disclosed are methods and compositions for controlling the stimulatory effects of methylxanthines particularly the sleep-disturbing effects of caffeine resulting from consumption of caffeine-containing coffee beverages. This invention eliminates the need for decaffeinating coffee material which is only accomplished with detrimental effects on the coffee. Caffeine antagonists useful either alone or in combination are disclosed herein.
