摘要： A shoe, in particular a sports shoe, having a sole connected to a shoe upper. The sole includes: a first sole part having a bottom plate arranged with a number of first damping elements; a second sole part having a cover plate arranged with a number of second damping elements; a connecting part having a number of interconnected plug connections. Each plug connection has a first plug directed downward and a second plug directed upward. The first plug engages in a section of the first damping element, and the second plug engages in a section of the second damping element. At least a number of the first plugs extends through an opening in the bottom plate so that, when the sole is deformed by the weight of the wearer, the first plug protrudes from the lower surface of the sole further than without application of the weight of the wearer.

摘要： A sole capable of being integrated in a boot or shoe and a method of assembling the same. The sole comprises an outsole, made of at least a first material, which defines an exterior lateral shape and an inner space for receiving a filling material and a housing for receiving a rigid mechanical device having protrusions that extend through corresponding openings of the sole. A wall surrounding the housing, made of the first material, has a minimum thickness of 20 mils. A portion of the wall is shared with a heel-section of the outsole. A seal plate is provided for, at least partly, covering the wall. the seal plate is for preventing the filling material from entering the housing. The filling material, once the sole is assembled, comprises a layer covering the seal plate and the sole conceals the mechanical device except for the protrusions.

摘要： Articles of footwear may include selectively engageable traction elements that engage with a surface or the ground during certain activities and do not engage with the surface or the ground during other activities. The selectively engageable traction elements are caused to engage with the ground or surface when a portion of the footwear is flexed. When the footwear is in its unflexed position, the selectively engageable traction elements may not engage with the ground or surface. Selectively engageable traction elements may be desired or may be useful during particular, targeted movements such as sharp turns, pivoting, sudden or abrupt starting and stopping motions, and the like and in changing environmental conditions, such as on various surfaces having different characteristics. Wearers of such footwear may benefit from the extra traction provided by the selectively engageable traction elements when performing the targeted movements and/or when wearing the footwear on surfaces with varying conditions.
