摘要： The invention discloses a pedestal apparatus for an article of furniture. The pedestal apparatus has an elongate post formation defining a first end and a second end and having a longitudinal axis. The post formation immovably supports a fixed foot arrangement and also movably supports a variable foot arrangement. The variable foot arrangement is selectively movable along and around the longitudinal axis for varying a longitudinal and angular proximity between the variable foot arrangement and the fixed foot arrangement. Biasing means are provided for controlling movement of the variable foot arrangement whereby, in use, the biasing means causes both the fixed foot arrangement and the variable foot arrangement to abut an underlying surface and thereby provide a substantial stabilization of the pedestal apparatus.

The seat back is pivotably connected to each of the leg assemblies such that an upper portion of the seat back pivots in relation to the leg assemblies between a first seat back position and a second seat back position. The seat bottom is rotatable in relation to the seat back between an upright position and a horizontal position. The seat bottom is slidingly engaged with the leg assemblies such that pivoting of the seat backward from the first seat back position to the second seat back position causes the seat bottom to slide forward from a first seat bottom position to a second seat bottom position.

摘要： An injection molded plastic stackable folding chair having a pair of parallel front legs and a pair of parallel back legs pivotally connected to the front legs. The front legs are separated by top, bottom and intermediate crosspieces, wherein the top crosspiece forms a back rest. The back legs are separated by top and bottom crosspieces. A seat is rotatably connected to the front legs by a rod between the backrest and intermediate crosspiece and slidably connected to the back legs by a pair of dowel pins engaging dowel slots formed within inner side faces of the back legs. The seat includes a plurality of stacking guides and a stacking lip integrally formed therein. The stacking guides extend downward and away from a bottom surface of the seat and the stacking lip extends in a direction relatively orthogonal to a top surface of the seat to form a substantially right angle shape. The extending direction of the stacking lip is substantially opposite the extending direction of the stacking guides. The stacking lip includes a notch that engages the top crosspiece of the back legs when the chair is in the open or in use position and receives a lower back corner of a second seat in the closed or folded position, wherein the first and second chairs are orderly stacked together.

摘要： A system of nestable chairs for use in a work environment is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of chairs. Each chair includes a base, a support coupled to the base, and a seat assembly coupled to the support and adapted for pivotal movement and for vertical adjustment with respect to the base. The base of a first chair of the plurality of chairs is configured to allow for nesting within the base of a second chair of the plurality of chairs. A chair for use in a work space or the like is also disclosed. The chair includes a base having a nesting portion and a nested portion, a support coupled to the base, and a seat assembly coupled to the support and adapted for pivotal movement and for vertical adjustment with respect to the base. The nested portion of the base is configured to allow for nesting within the nesting portion of the base. The chair may also include a support in the form of a pedestal coupled to the base. A yoke may be coupled to the pedestal, with the seat assembly coupled to the yoke and adapted for pivotal movement and for vertical adjustment with respect to the base.
