The medial and lateral tendons flare circumferentially toward proximal and distal sections of the liner body.

摘要： A pre-prosthetic training device is provided. The device provides an interim prosthetic device that aids in the standing, weight bearing, and balancing exercises during post-surgery rehabilitation therapy that are required before a prosthesis fitting. The device includes a residual limb support for receiving the residual limb of an amputee, an adjustable pylon for adjusting the height of the residual limb support, and a support base including a plurality of support legs for providing support to the pylon and residual limb support. The residual limb support includes a cushion having a recessed portion sized to receive the distal end of the residual limb of an amputee and for providing comfort and stability thereto. The residual limb support further includes an upper open end and a sidewall including a tapering portion that provides vertical and lateral access, respectively, of a residual limb into the residual limb support.

摘要： A liner is arranged for use in prosthetic and orthopedic devices. The liner defines first and second end portions, and inner and outer surfaces. The liner includes an inner layer having a frictional component and forms at least part of the periphery of the inner liner surface. The inner layer defines a plurality of apertures. A porous element is in communication with the inner liner surface and is connected to the inner layer such that the apertures permit a transfer of air from the inner surface to the porous element. A base layer adjoins the porous element and extends between the first and second end portions of the liner.

摘要： The invention relates to a prosthetic socket for a residual limb of the lower extremity or upper extremity of an individual person. The residual limb has particular dimensions and anatomical contours; the prosthetic socket has dimensions and contours that fit the dimensions and contours of the residual limb. The prosthetic socket may also fit in a manner that is biomechanically particularly appropriate for the individual. The prosthetic socket is an assembly of components from groups of components that include (a) struts arranged longitudinally with respect to the residual limb, (b) proximal brim members arranged proximally to the struts and connected thereto; and (c) distal socket members disposed at the distal base of the prosthetic socket. The socket components within these groups may be modular in that they can vary with respect to dimensions and/or contours, and yet have common connecting features that permit assembly of the components together to form the prosthetic socket.

The liner has an elongate, generally conical liner body formed from at least one material segment that is at least radially elastically extensible from a relaxed non-extended condition and including proximal and distal end areas, and a seal component connected to the liner body and having an exterior surface defining at least one exterior seal protruding from the exterior surface and extending radially outwardly from the seal component relative to a longitudinal axis of the liner body. The at least one interior seal is located along an interior surface of the seal component and defines at least one blade extending obliquely toward the liner body. A portion of the seal component carrying the interior seal extends freely and is movable relative to the liner body.

摘要： A gel liner made by starting initially with a one-piece knitted tubular sock-shaped fabric having a closed distal end section of gel impermeable knitted fabric, an open proximal end section of gel impermeable knitted fabric and at least one intermediate section being a gel permeable loosely knitted fabric. Molding the liner to have a gel cushion layer on its interior surface with the gel passing through and embedding the at least one intermediate fabric section therein to form at least one annular seal. The intermediate fabric section selected of meltable fibers and knit construction that may or may not be melted by the gel during the molding process whereby the at least one annular seal is not inhibited in compression and/or elongation by the presence or absence of fabric when the liner is worn thereby reducing or eliminating any discomfort of the liner during ambulation caused by the annular seal.
