Abstract:
Due to the threat of virus attacks and ransom ware, an apparatus and methods for protecting backup storage devices from malicious software virus attacks is explored. An independent backup storage system is connected to a primary storage server over an undiscoverable communications line. The backup storage system is a read-only backup storage system most of the time buffering the backup storage system from a virus or attack on the primary storage server. The backup storage system changes from a read-only backup storage system to a read/write backup storage system only during a backup window of time where data is backed up to the backup storage system. A snapshot of the backup data is maintained in the backup storage system and can be made available at numerous points of time in the past if the data primary storage server becomes corrupted.
Abstract:
This disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatuses for generating an ionizing electromagnetic field via a remote plasma source such that the field controllably extends through a field projection portion where the field attenuates, to a plasma processing portion where the field is attenuated but still strong enough to sustain a plasma. The plasma has a low voltage and RF energy and can be used for a variety of semiconductor and thin film processing operations including chamber cleaning via radical generation, etching, and deposition.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and apparatus for regulating ion energies in a plasma chamber and chucking a substrate to a substrate support are disclosed. An exemplary method includes placing a substrate in a plasma chamber, forming a plasma in the plasma chamber, controllably switching power to the substrate so as to apply a periodic voltage function (or a modified periodic voltage function) to the substrate, and modulating, over multiple cycles of the periodic voltage function, the periodic voltage function responsive to a defined distribution of energies of ions at the surface of the substrate so as to effectuate the defined distribution of ion energies on a time-averaged basis.
Abstract:
Provided is a system and method for a robotic storage system. The system includes at least a first and second portable data element and at least a first and second data read/write device, structured and arranged to read portable data storage elements. A repository is structured and arranged to store the first and second portable data storage elements. At least one robot is structured and arranged to move a selected data storage element between the repository and a selected data read/write device. The system includes a history of prior commands, each prior command executed by a prior path selected from a group of optional paths. A receiver is structured and arranged to receive a current command for the robotic storage system, and a director is structured and arranged to direct the robotic storage system based on the current command and the history. An associated method is also provided.
Abstract:
This is an improved retrieval mechanism for vending machines that includes a sophisticated positioning system, gripper and trays for improved efficiency in product retrieval and delivery. Following product selection, the positioning system quickly transports the gripper through the X-Y plane to the front of a tray queue containing the selected product. The gripper is extended in the Z-direction, and its fingers grasp the foremost product container in the queue. The gripper is raised in order to clear a retaining lip in the queue and then retracts, and the positioning system transports the gripper carrying the product container to a delivery port. The gripper then releases the product which slides down a chute into a delivery port for customer pick up. Unique product storage trays are provided which work in conjunction with the gripper to allow only the foremost product to be removed from a tray queue. Related methods are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A storage system is provided having at least one storage unit, the storage unit including an electrical power source, a communication source and a cover that defines, at least in part an interior space. The storage system operates with a media blade that comprises a plurality of data storage elements, the media blade moveable in a drawer like motion though a cooperating opening in the cover. The storage system further includes a motion accommodating conductor apparatus connecting the plurality of data storage elements to the electrical power source and the communication source such that power from the electrical power source and communication from the communication source may be provided to the media blade without interruption when the media blade is moved in the drawer like motion outward from at least partially within the interior space.
Abstract:
The present invention provides methods and apparatus for reducing or preventing sunlight from reaching the interior of a vending machine through its front panel, and also providing for the placement of advertising, information, and/or identification of the products inside the machine. Embodiments of the invention include an obscuring peripheral border provided around a viewing area of the front panel of a vending machine. Other embodiments include methods and apparatus for scrolling specialized film behind the front panel of a vending machine.
