摘要: A train system includes a track and at least one train component. Connectable and detachable segments join to form the track. Each segment includes a main body with an upper running surface upon which train components run. A receiving chamber is formed within the main body. A pair of track members extend outwardly from opposed sides of the main body. A connector component, with a neck portion and a distal portion, extends outwardly from the main body opposite the receiving chamber and engages the receiving chamber of another segment. The segments move in up-down and side-to-side directions. Each train component connects to the track by a pair of rail guides that engage the opposed sides of the main body. A spring element connected between the rail guides operates a switch element to drive a drive member, which engages the upper running surface to move the train component along the track.

摘要: An inductively coupled drive module for small scale model vehicles, the module including an electric motor having at least one output shaft having an axis of rotation; and at least one inductive coupling, the inductive coupling having: a body which includes a drive shaft which is coaxial with said output shaft, an opening to permit a first end portion of said output shaft to extend within the body, bearings located within the body to permit the body to rotate about said axis but independently of rotation of said output shaft, and a member mounted on said output shaft for rotation therewith and within a cavity formed in the body, the member being: (a) made from or includes magnetic material, or (b) made from or includes electrically conductive material; and wherein the body is: (c) made from or includes electrically conductive material, (when the member is made from or includes magnetic material), or (d) made from or includes magnetic material (when the member is made from or includes electrically conductive material), the arrangement being such that when the electric motor rotates and its output shaft rotates, the member rotates within the body so that induced currents will flow in the body or member which currents will react the magnetic material in the member or mounting body and cause a torque to be applied to the body to thereby cause rotation thereof and consequential rotation of the drive shaft.

摘要: A model train locomotive has a set of drive wheels and a power system for rotating the drive wheels. The power system comprises an electric motor mounted for rotating a power input shaft, a control mechanism for regulating the amount of electric current supply to the motor for varying the rotational speed of the power input shaft, and power transmission assembly for transmitting power from the power input shaft to rotate a driven output shaft which is coupled to rotate the locomotive drive wheels. The power transmission assembly includes a flywheel and gear train for rotating the flywheel about an axis of rotation when the electric motor is rotating the power input shaft while the driven output shaft is not rotating. The gear train is effective to rotate the driven output shaft while the flywheel is rotating without stalling the electric motor when the control mechanism increases the amount of electric current supplied to the motor to increase the rotational speed of the power input shaft and rotate the locomotive drive wheels.

摘要: The present invention provides a drive assembly for a model toy train which connects a single drive shaft from an electric motor to a pair of discrete truck assemblies. The drive shaft drives a plurality of pinions which in turn drive a pair of worm shafts which extend toward the truck assemblies. A pair of worm wheel shafts are driven by the worm shafts to drive the wheels on the truck assemblies. A saddle and bearing combination rotationally connects the model toy train to the truck assemblies allowing the truck assemblies to freely rotate.

摘要: In a model of a steam locomotive which is driven by an electric motor and includes a model reproduction of the valve gear regulating the steam control valves of the steam cylinders, the electric motor is coupled to the axle of a set of driving wheels of the model via a drive shaft, which is permitted a limited amount of axial float and is coupled to the axle by a gearbox. Axial movement of the drive shaft is produced by interaction between the gears of the gearbox and is controlled by coil springs disposed on the shaft at opposite ends of the gearbox. These axial movements result from changes in the amount and direction of the torque applied to the gearbox by the electric motor and are transmitted to the model valve gear by an axially movable rod. Hence the configuration of the model valve gear is continuously changeable in accordance with the required pulling power and direction of movement of the model locomotive so that the position of the model valve gear substantially corresponds to that of the real locomotive when operating under similar conditions, thereby providing for more realistic operation of the model.

摘要: A sliding contact for a toy rail vehicle has a body part having a convex slide face and a depression which is provided in the convex slide face and arranged so as to form on the latter an edge by which said slide face linearly contacts with a current-conductive rail and which removes extraneous particles from the current-conductive rail during sliding over the latter. The depression may have a circular cross-section so that the edge formed by the depression is annular. The depression may have a diameter which exceeds the width of the rail so that two curved edges are formed one of which is a leading edge, whereas the other of which is a trailing edge.
