摘要: In an impact dot print head there is provided a fitting structure for fitting an inner periphery-side cylindrical portion of a yoke and an inner periphery-side ring-shaped portion of an armature spacer with each other so that the inner periphery-side cylindrical portion of the yoke and the inner periphery-side ring-shaped portion of the armature spacer push against each other, thereby permitting a magnetic flux to flow efficiently between the armature spacer and the yoke through the contact face between the inner periphery-side cylindrical portion of the yoke and the inner periphery-side ring-shaped portion of the armature spacer.

摘要: A print wire driving device for a wire dot printer includes a plate like member having slots therein. The slots are arranged opposite the cores of a magnetic core block. The cores are arranged in a circle and project from the core block. The slots extend radially from the center of the plate like member. A magnetic driving member is received in each slot so that it pivots therein when acted upon by the magnetic field of a respective magnetic core. A print wire is coupled to each magnetic driving member. Each print wire is guided by a wire guide having a wire nose which receives at its end a wire guide member from which the ends of the print wires extend to print. The wire guide includes structure for properly aligning two stacks of magnetic actuators.

摘要: A printing head includes solenoids arranged in an annular array for driving needles which are arranged in a zigzag array of two vertical columns. Solenoids corresponding to needles forming one of the columns are arranged on a semicircle of the annular array in the same order as that of the needles on the needle column. Two solenoids respectively corresponding to needles disposed at lower ends of the two needle columns are designed to generate magnetic fluxes whose directions are the same. During underline printing where these two solenoids are alternately energized, the magnetic flux generated by one of the solenoids never acts to increase an effective magnetic flux of the other solenoid at an initial stage of the excitation period thereof, so that the needle of the first solenoid reaches its forwardmost position at an appropriate time. The needle is rapidly restored and its tip prevented from being caught by the ink ribbon. After the forwardmost position is reached by the needle associated with the first solenoid, the magnetic flux generated by the second solenoid never acts to increase the magnetic flux of the first, permitting rapid restoration of the needle.

摘要: An impact printer having a platen, an impact printing member such as a printing wire, a driver such as a driving coil for driving the impact member, a controller for controlling the driver and a temperature detector. Before printing data is printed, the temperature detector compares the temperature of the printer to a set point. If the temperature is too low, a warm-up signal is provided and the driver displaces the printing member to such an extent that printing does not occur. The warm-up signal can also cause the gap between the platen and the printing member to widen to such an extent that printing cannot occur.

摘要: A ballistic type wire printing head comprises a metal front support (11) for guiding the printing wires (23) and supporting a group of actuating electromagnetic units (37, 39, 41) associated with the wires. The armatures (41) of the electromagnetic units are pre-assembled on a disc (40) of plastics material. A rear cover (59) which is also of metal encloses the electromagnetic units and in its interior supports spring spider (58) which co-operates with all the armatures of the electromagnetic units. The electromagnetic units have a common internal, ferromagnetic support (35) from which heat is conducted to the front support (11) and cooling fins (25). In a second embodiment, the printing head also comprises a second group of electromagnetic units associated with another series of printing wires. In that case, an intermediate metal member acts as a cover member for the first group of electromagnetic units and as a support for the second group of electromagnetic units.

摘要: An impact type dot matrix printing head in which a plurality of dot printing elements, each of which is formed of a thin flat sheet material, are stacked in the direction of their thickness and each being capable of sliding relative to one another when actuated. The dot matrix printer arrangement is such so as to efficiently add to the number of dot printing elements making up a given matrix so as to increase the density of the multiple dots to form more legible characters, to reduce the size and weight of the dot matrix printer, and to improve its durability. A plurality of electro magnets for individually actuating a corresponding associated dot printing element are circumferentially spaced in one or more stages spaced longitudinally along the dot matrix. In one form of the invention an intermediate portion of the respective dot printing elements are offset or oppositely deviated to reduce wear and/or resistance between adjacent dot printing elements.

摘要: A matrix print head operates 24 or more print wires to produce high quality characters. The head includes multiple levels, each of which contains common parts. Each level has a cup-shaped magnet frame, the bottom of which mounts poles. Around each pole is a bobbin-wound coil located via a tab on the bobbin which is held in a slot in the side wall of the magnet frame. An armature with a wide base and a narrow finger is associated with each pole. Each base pivots on a bevel edge formed in the side wall of the frame causing the finger to move a print wire. Posts on the bobbin extend through the holes in each armature to locate it on its pivot edge. The side wall of the frame and the armatures are configured so that only those portions capable of effectively contributing to moving the armatures are given substantial mass and size. Return force is applied to the armatures by a tensioned elastomeric band acting between the armature bases and a beveled surface spaced from the armatures. Each armature has its non-print position set by abutting an angled elastomeric member. The beveled surface for the band and a mounting surface for the elastomeric member may be provided by the same element, such as the facing portion of an adjacent level or a back plate.

摘要: A wire matrix print head has a first group of wires activated by a first group of electromagnetic means disposed on the circumference of a circle and substantially equally angularly spaced from each other. A second group of print wires is activated by a second group of electromagnetic means disposed on the circumference of a circle with each of the electromagnetic means of the second group having its longitudinal axis out of alignment with the longitudinal axis of each of the electromagnetic means of the first group. The print head includes guide means to transform the two groups of wires, which have their ends remote from the ends causing printing disposed on the circumferences of two circles, into a row and column matrix for causing printing.

摘要: A wire matrix printer includes a plurality of electromagnetic actuators for use as dot-matrix printer drive elements. Each actuator has a unitary bobbin body made of insulating material which includes a slot arranged to receive a flat plate armature of ferromagnetic material. The bottom of the slot is sufficiently wide to receive an edge of the plate armature and the open portion of the slot is sufficiently wide to permit the plate to pivot around the edge positioned in the bottom of the slot towards a pole of an electromagnet and then away from it to the armature's rest position. The flat plate armature includes an integral spring portion with an end which is arranged to engage a notch in the bobbin body. Positioning of the end of the spring portion in the notch flexes the spring portion sufficiently so as to provide a spring force to return the armature to its rest position, as well as, keep the armature in the slot. This arrangement allows easy, low cost assembly of bobbin and armature since no hinges, screws or external springs are necessary.

摘要: A high-speed impact printer of the dot-matrix type employing at least first and second print head assemblies for printing characters or other symbols in line-by-line fashion upon a paper document. In the dual head embodiment each print head assembly prints substantially one-half of the line of characters or symbols and both heads operate simultaneously during the print mode. The print mode is such that printing of every other line occurs as the print heads move from left to right and printing of the interspersed lines occurs as the print heads move from right to left after having completed the previous line of characters or other symbols. Novel electronics are provided to accomplish the above printing modes. The multiple head printer may also be employed in a graphics mode. It is further possible to employ more than two heads, for example, three or more, in either the printing or graphic modes, if desired. The printer has the further capability of ''''half-step'''' printing.
