    摘要: A head cleaning mechanism includes a recording head and a wiper. The recording head includes an ink ejection face having an ink ejection region where a plurality of ink ejection openings for ejecting ink onto a recording medium are open. The wiper wipes the ink ejection face in a predetermined direction. The ink ejection face has, downstream of the ink ejection region in the wiping direction, a depressed portion extending in the head width direction perpendicular to the wiping direction. The depressed portion includes an upstream side inclined face which inclines upward from the ink ejection face to the downstream side in the wiping direction, and a downstream side inclined face which is arranged downstream of the upstream side inclined face in the wiping direction and which inclines downward to the downstream side in the wiping direction.

    摘要: A recording head is provided with an ink ejection surface and a cleaning liquid supply surface. The ink ejection surface includes a nozzle region in which a plurality of ink ejection nozzles for ejecting ink onto a recording medium are open. The cleaning liquid supply surface is provided, with respect to the nozzle region, on an upstream side in a wiping direction in which a wiper wipes the ink ejection surface, and a plurality of cleaning liquid supply ports for supplying a cleaning liquid are open through the cleaning liquid supply surface. On the cleaning liquid supply surface, at least in a region including the cleaning liquid supply ports, a hydrophilic region having wettability with respect to water higher than that of the ink ejection surface is formed substantially evenly across an entire region in a width direction thereof orthogonal to the wiping direction.

    摘要: A cleaning liquid supplying apparatus includes a first storage section, a pressure-accumulating second storage section, a plurality of cleaning liquid ejecting sections, a liquid sending section, a plurality of individual flow channel opening/closing sections, and a control section. The first storage section stores cleaning liquid. The cleaning liquid ejecting sections are connected to the second storage section via a plurality of individual flow channels having upstream ends located at positions where the upstream ends are open to a liquid reservoir when a predetermined amount of the cleaning liquid is stored in the second storage section. The liquid sending section is provided midway along a first flow channel and sends the cleaning liquid in the first storage section to the second storage section. The individual flow channel opening/closing sections open/close the respective individual flow channels. The control section controls the liquid sending section so that a pressure in an air reservoir becomes a predetermined pressure.
