    摘要: A method corrects for defective printing nozzles in an ink jet printing machine via a computer. The defective printing nozzles are compensated for after the screening process by neighboring printing nozzles applying an increased amount of ink. The method includes precalculating different compensation halftones for different area coverages by the computer, printing the compensation halftones embedded in area coverage halftone areas, evaluating the printed compensation halftones via the computer, and selecting and saving, for every area coverage level, the compensation halftone that best matches the coloration of the original halftone in the respective area coverage halftone area. A defective printing nozzle is detected during production printing by the computer. The local area coverage is determined along the detected defective printing nozzle by the computer. The compensation halftone that has been saved for the determined local area coverage is used to compensate for the defective printing nozzles via the computer.

    摘要: A method for compensating tone value fluctuation in inkjet printing includes generating multi-bit halftone images of pixels on a computer during prepress screening for color separations with multiple tone values out of print image data, forwarding multi-bit halftone images to a control unit of an inkjet printing machine, and printing the multi-bit halftone on the machine, wherein encoded binary values of multi-bit halftone images correspond to ink drop sizes to be generated by the machine. The computer introduces additional binary values of multi-bit halftone images not corresponding to ink drop sizes in pixel positions of multi-bit halftone images where occurring tone value fluctuations are to be compensated for by modified ink drop sizes, causing additional binary values to be ignored by the machine in a regular print mode, and assigning additional binary values to modified ink drop sizes in a correction print mode.

    摘要: A method for detecting and compensating for failed printing nozzles in an inkjet printing machine by using a computer, includes printing a current print image, recording the printed print image by using an image sensor and digitizing the recorded print image by using the computer, adding digitized color values of the recorded print image of every column over the entire print image height and dividing the added-up color values by the number of pixels to obtain a column profile, subtracting an optimized column profile without failed printing nozzles from the original column profile to obtain a differential column profile, setting a maximum value threshold defining a failed printing nozzle when exceeded, applying that maximum value threshold to the differential column profile to obtain a resultant column profile every maximum of which marks a failed printing nozzle. The marked printing nozzles are compensated in a subsequent printing operation.
