摘要： A binding mechanism assembly for binding a sheet item, the binding mechanism assembly including a backing member having an upper surface, and a binding member directly or indirectly coupled to the backing member. The binding member includes a protrusion shaped and located to protrude through a hole of a sheet item to be bound thereto. The binding member further includes a generally flexible flange that is manually movable into engagement with the protrusion to form a generally closed loop and thereby bind the sheet item thereto. The loop is rotatable relative to the backing member from a first position in which the loop is generally located above the upper surface to a second position wherein at least part of the loop is located below the upper surface. A release mechanism is provided for opening the loop.

摘要： A binder spine with a generally rectangular back panel that has a width and a length. The back panel is bounded by generally opposed longitudinal edges. The opposed longitudinal edges are joined through living hinges to adjacent side panels. The binder spine is foldable along the living hinges between an open generally flat configuration and a generally closed configuration. At least one post member is located on one of the side panels, and at least one socket member is located on the other side panel. The socket and post members are aligned with one another and include generally cylindrical mating walls. The post and socket members are spaced apart in the open configuration by a distance. The socket and post members are positioned to retainingly interengage one another in the closed configuration to hold the binder spine in that closed configuration. The socket in the socket member receives the post member in a snap fit. When a system including several of these binder spines with different capacities is provided the dimensions and proportions remain substantially the same except for the post members and the width of the back panel.

摘要： A storage apparatus for temporarily mounting a plurality of planar documents. An elongated mounting spine having one or more mounting posts thereon is adapted to receive documents for mounting. Mounting notches are formed into an edge of each document to be stored, each notch being adapted to engage a mounting post. Each mounting notch is defined by a channel having opposed edges terminating at a receiving aperture and at least one reinforced, flexible positioning tab being aligned and extending inwardly from one of the opposed edges of the mounting notch. A positioning tab separates the receiving aperture from the channel edges. The distance between a positioning tab and opposed channel edge is less than the outer dimension of the mounting post. When in place, a positioning tab will temporarily maintain the position of a mounting post within the receiving aperture and prevent inadvertent dislodgment of the document from the mounting post.

摘要： A binder for sheets of paper comprises a bendable cover and a binding system secured centrally of the cover. The binding system has a one piece plastic construction comprising a base portion with first and second bosses formed from and located to either side of the base portion. The first boss has a plurality of spaced apart recesses and the second boss has a plurality of spaced apart posts which lock into the recesses of the first boss when the binder is folded upon itself in a binding position. Also provided are first and second sets of ribs again formed from the base between the first and second bosses. The ribs are hollow and are open from beneath to ease the bending of the binding system when the binder is folded to the binding position.

摘要： A binder for a stack of punched hole paper sheets utilizes various headed fastener members with a post insertable in the punched holes from one side of the stack. A post connector is utilized on the other side of the stack. The headed fastener members, normally two or three in number corresponding to the number of punched holes in the paper sheets, are captured in recesses and post apertures, punched in a multi-fold carrier made by scoring and folding a thin flexible binder material which serves to encapsulate, capture, space and hold the series of headed fasteners. The fastener posts extend perpendicular to a resultant appreciably stiffened elongated multilayer carrier forming a unitary assembly. In a preferred embodiment, a post connector is also captured and held in a recess within an elongated multi-fold, multilayer carrier forming a second unitary assembly. The multilayer carriers in a preferred embodiment include integral front and rear covers. An integral spine flap also extends from a multi-fold carrier and functions to cover the post and post connector connection at one side edge of the paper stack after the two unitary assemblies have been mounted on the paper stack with the posts of the first assembly extending through the multiple punched holes of the paper stack.
