摘要： An indexing system with a label display configured for connection to a stack holder for placement adjacent a stack of sheets held in the stack holder. The display has a label portion disposed in a viewing position beyond the stack and is configured for displaying label indicia thereon for identifying a section of the stack. A divider is configured for dividing the section of the stack from other sections and for mounting in the stack holder within the stack. A tab connected to the divider and positionable extending beyond the stack and over the label portion is configured to permit viewing of the indicia therethrough with the divider held in the stack holder. An indexing system package and a system for displaying indexing system packages is also disclosed.

摘要： A substantially planar substrate (10), typically constituting a part of a hybrid electro-optical device, has a portion (12) defining a mounting location for optoelectronic components (14) such as laser sources, photodetector diodes, LEDs, requiring local hermetic protection of the bare chips. A planar lightwave circuit (PLC) waveguide structure formed on the substrate (10) extends to the mounting location (12) to define an optical signal feed-through for the device. At least one electrode (20) is associated with the planar lightwave circuit waveguide structure (18) and extends said mounting location (12) to define an electrical signal feed-through for the device (14). A ring-like structure (26) continuously surrounds said mounting location (12). The ring-like structure (26) is hermetic with respect to the planar substrate (12), and a continuous cover member (28) is arranged to cover the mounting location (12) and having a peripheral rim portion (32) co-extensive with the ring-like structure (26). A hermetic sealing mass (30) extends continuously between the rim portion (32) of the cover member (28) and the ring-like structure, whereby the component (14) is hermetically sealed at said mounting location.

摘要： A printer includes a roller assembly for feeding sheets of print media along a feed path. A print head is positioned downstream of the roller assembly for carrying out a printing operation on the sheets of print media. An adhesive application mechanism is positioned downstream of the print head and includes first and second aligned adhesive applicators that are positioned on opposite sides of the feed path and are configured to apply adhesive simultaneously to the sheets of media as the sheets pass between the applicators along the feed path, such that the sheets each have aligned strips of adhesive on respective sides. A support structure positioned downstream of the adhesive application mechanism defines a floor onto which sheets to be bound are conveyed and a wall that extends from the floor to define a stop for the sheets that are fed onto the floor. A binding mechanism is arranged on the support structure and is displaceable with respect to the support structure to act on each sheet fed into the support structure such that the sheets are adhered together with the strips of adhesive.

摘要： A report cover (10) is disclosed which can be used with a report (12) bound by a flexible comb binding (14). An insert (20) is bound with the report (12) in the flexible comb binding (14). The insert (20) is then fit within a pocket (38) in the back cover (28) of the cover (26). The spine or side cover (30) and front cover (32) of the cover (26) then encloses the report (12) and spiral binding (14) to provide an attractive, book-like report with spine labeling and titling for easy shelf reference. The spine also provides a space for advertising. The report cover can be used with a report that is bound with a spiral, wire loop or three ring binding also. A modified cover (100) can be formed with integral side tabs (110) and end tab (112) to form the pocket (102) without the use of adhesive or other fastener.

摘要： An improved system for labeling the spine of a binder is disclosed. The system includes an improved flexible label leader to load labels into a binder slot. The leader includes a first end portion having an adhesive section for adhering a binder label thereto. Hinge plates are supported by the plate for pivoting relative to the elongate plate. Rings for holding loose leaf pages include ring members mounted on the hinge plates and moveable between a closed position and an open position. A control structure is supported by the elongate plate and controllably pivots the hinge plates to move the ring members between the closed and open positions. The control structure has a travel bar connected to the hinge plates for moving the hinge plates between the closed and open positions. A spring biases the travel bar to a position toward the closed position of the hinge plates.
