摘要: Provided is a vehicle having a support structure attached to the front of the vehicle in which is mounted a windshield. The windshield comprises a hinge and a top mount allowing the windshield to fold up for improved upper body safety and improved air circulation. The windshield comprises an upper windshield portion, a bottom windshield portion connected to the upper windshield portion, and a rotatable device attaching the upper portion to the bottom portion where the upper windshield portion is an upper fixed windshield portion and the bottom windshield portion is a bottom movable windshield portion. The upper windshield portion is a fixed portion and is comprised of clips or clamps configured to latch the bottom windshield portion in a folded position over the upper fixed windshield portion.

摘要: A folding windshield assembly (1) for a vehicle, such as a golf cart (11), that folds against a roof (15) of the vehicle when not in use. The windshield assembly comprises a bottom panel (2) and a top panel (3). A top edge (4) of the bottom panel is attached to a bottom edge (5) of the top panel by a hinge (6). Bottom corners (7) on side edges (17) of the bottom panel are slideably and pivotally attached to tracks (8) and front posts (9) of a upper structure (10) of a vehicle. Top corners (12) on side edges (18) of the top panel are pivotally attached to the front vertical posts of the upper structure. Gas springs (13) are mounted to the top panel and the front posts to assist with folding the windshield assembly up and down.

摘要: A hinge assembly for a vehicle windshield comprises a first holder, a second holder, and a hinge member. The first holder includes a first body and a first receptacle with a first opening and a first closed end, wherein a first axis is defined between the first closed end and the first opening, the first axis being normal to a first plane defined by the first opening. The second holder includes a second body and a second receptacle with a second opening and a second closed end, wherein a second axis is defined between the second closed end and the second opening, the second axis being normal to a second plane defined by the second opening. The hinge member is attached to the first and second holder and has first and second ends and defines a third axis. When the hinge member is in a relaxed condition, the first and second axes form oblique angles relative to the third axis. In this configuration, the hinge member is under less strain in the both of the open and closed positions than is the case with prior hinges.

摘要: A windshield hinge system that hinges a foldable golf cart windshield. The upper and lower portions of the windshield are hingedly joined together at an intermediate level with a hinge mechanism that has two opposing spaced-apart C-shaped members joined together by a flexible and foldable intermediate member. The intermediate member serves to hingedly rotate the upper and lower portions of the windshield when desired. The C-shaped members interlockingly engage sides of respective upper and lower portions of the windshield within respective legs of each C-shaped member. The C-shaped members are made of a polyvinyl chloride material while the intermediate member is made from a resilient foldable and flexible polyuoruethane material.

摘要: A portable windshield assembly for a recreational vehicle such as a golf cart includes a pair of rigid windshield panels each received in a frame. Each frame is defined by support rails around the periphery of the panels. The inner side rails of the windshield panels are pivotally coupled together by a webbed joining hinge. The outer side rails of the windshield panels are coupled by webbed hinges to an upright assembly defined by truss panels that support the windshield panels in an upright position on the vehicle cowling. The assembly is mounted to the cowling by clamps that couple the truss panels to the rear marginal edge of the cowling. Hooked extendible cords are provided to secure the windshield panels in position on the cowling. T-shaped stabilizing clips engage upper and lower support rails of each windshield panel frame at the joining hinge thereby rigidifying the structure. In use, the windshield assembly attaches to the vehicle to protect passengers from flying insects, wind and entrained dust and debris.

摘要: A rigid windshield for a golf cart comprising two substantially identical window panes each having an upper inwardly turned edge and a lower outwardly turned edge. Removable fasteners are affixed to opposing side edges of each window pane allowing the window panes to be affixed to the vertical roof supports of the golf cart with one window pane being positioned planarly over the other such that the lower outwardly turned edge of the upper window pane mates with the upper inwardly turned edge of the lower window pane. When removed, the window panes may be stacked one on top of the other and conveniently stored underneath the roof structure of the golf cart.

摘要: The frame of an operator's cab has a sub-frame pivotally mounted thereon. An upper windshield is fixedly mounted on the sub-frame and a lower windshield is slidably mounted in a co-linear track defined on the main frame and on the sub-frame. A first latch is mounted on the sub-frame to releasably attach the sub-frame and upper windshield in a generally vertical closed position or a generally horizontal open position on the frame of the operator's cab. A second latch is adapted to maintain the lower windshield in one of four positions for permitting sequential upward movement thereof between (1) a lowermost first position to permit the sub-frame and upper windshield to be pivoted into the operator's cab, (2) a second position to prevent the sub-frame and upper windshield from pivoting into the operator's cab, (3) a third position to define an opening between a lower edge of the lower windshield and the main frame for ventilation purposes, and (4) a fourth position substantially overlying the upper windshield to permit the sub-frame and upper and lower windshields to pivot into the operator's cab as a unit simultaneously.
