摘要： An adjustment mechanism for a head restraint assembly in which the head restraint is supported on one or more posts having a plurality of V-shaped detent notches for engagement by a spring clip to hold the head restraint in place. The spring clip includes a V-shaped contacting portion having two legs which concurrently contact the surfaces of the detent notches to hold the head restraint in place. The lowest notch is a locking notch having an upper inclined surface and a lower radial surface while the lower surface of the spring clip contacting portion includes a cutout the upper edge of which contacts the radial surface of the locking notch to prevent removal of the head restraint post. The outer edge of the V-shaped contacting portion of the spring clip is rounded to reduce abrasion of the post surface coating.

摘要： A head-rest vertical adjustment device is disclosed which is provided with a lock mechanism to restrict the vertical movements of a head-rest stay in a guide cylinder into which the head-rest stay is inserted in a manner that it is free to move vertically. This lock mechanism comprises a lock spring of a wire material to be engaged into an engagement groove formed in the head-rest stay from a slit formed in the guide cylinder, and an operation lever to release the lock spring from its locked position. First ends of both the lock spring and operation lever are rotatably mounted onto the same projection provided in the guide cylinder and second ends of these two members are integrally connected to each other.

The connecting element has mutually spaced recesses and the arresting device has a retaining member resiliently displaceable in a housing between a retaining position and a release position. The retaining member has a retaining edge and at least one slide edge so arranged relative to each other that in the retaining position the retaining edge is engaged into a corresponding recess in the connecting element. In the release position the at least one slide edge bears slidably against the outside contour of the associated connecting element and the retaining edge is spaced from the connecting element.
