    摘要: In a continuously moving cableway installation (9), a haul rope (13b) extends as a closed loop defining a transportation path (12). Suspended vehicles (14) can be connected to the rope by means of automatic coupling devices (24). Along the rope path, passenger stations (10) are provided, each providing ramps (22) to cause the clamping or release of the automatic coupling devices (24), fixed power supply conductors (30), and overhead rails (28). Mounted on board each vehicle (14) are: a motor-driven trolley (20), an electrical contact (30a) to contact one of the power supply conductors (30) in the passenger stations (10), an electric power battery (43), and an electric motor (42) with driving wheels (40) associated thereto, which are suitable for rolling on the overhead rails (28) in order to move the vehicle within and proximate to the passenger stations.

    摘要: Embodiments of the invention move objects throughout two-dimensional and three-dimensional space by using a movement line that is coupled with a plurality of opposing sides of the platform. The movement line is used to control the horizontal axis motion and Z-axis motion of the platform and is designated the horizontal movement line. Displacing a portion of the horizontal movement line allows vertical displacement of the platform to be traversed. There is no need for a complex computer control system since the Z-axis displacement is substantially independent of horizontal movement over a coverage area serviced by the platform. Nested embodiments utilizing one or more rope allow for three-dimensional movement of an object or angular displacement of an object with respect to the vertical axis. A mounting beam for positioning and supporting the Z-axis and horizontal axis motors and visual display element(s) and other optional multimedia devices may also be positioned independently of the platform. In addition, since the line may be commanded from one point, distantly located motors and electrical cables are not required. Many types of useful devices may then be attached to the platform including devices that require external power or devices that possess their own power and are operated via wireless signals.

    摘要: A rocker arm assembly for support of the haul rope of an aerial tramway or the like is disclosed. The assembly includes rocker arms, rope supporting sheaves rotatably mounted to the rocker arms and cantilevered from an inwardly facing side of the rocker arms. The rocker arms are additionally formed with rope catching groove or recess positioned outwardly of the sheaves and having a configuration which will enable not only the rope, but a hanger arm and grip to pass over the rope catcher in the event that the haul rope derails from the sheaves. The rocker arm assembly also preferably includes a platform which acts as a mount for the rocker arms and can be used for maintainence and repair of the rocker arms and rope supporting sheaves. Additionally, the rocker arm assembly includes haul rope derailment responsive apparatus formed to shutdown the tramway operation upon derailment of the rope from the sheaves.

    摘要: This invention is a gravity powered Dual Cable Zipline Trolley Transfer System comprising, a dual cable zipline trolley and dual cable zipline transfer unit which work in conjunction of each other. The trolley comprises tandem wheels that traverse over the dual cables and are pivoted in the center to allow the trolley to pass smoothly over the transfer unit, which is suspended on support structures. Unlike the traditional zipline which has a path between two stations, this system is designed to allow the participant to travel in a continuous uninterrupted path without the need to detach from one cable to another in order to sustain the journey beyond the station. The transfer unit is lengthened to create curves both horizontal and vertical. This invention eliminates the menacing sag in the cable that occurs over distance.

    摘要: A cable derailment responsive apparatus for use in terminating the operation of a cable drive for a chairlift, ski lift, gondola or the like is disclosed. The apparatus includes a spring biasing a portion of the pulley assembly for movement if the cable jumps the sheaves, further includes an electrical circuit having a plug-in connector that is mechanically pulled apart from the remainder of the circuit upon cable derailment to interrupt or deactivate the cable drive. Upon remounting of the cable on the sheave assemblies, the connector can be plugged back into the circuit to permit driving of the cable.
