    摘要: Braking systems for railway cars are provided. A braking system defines a longitudinal axis, and includes a first brake assembly, a second brake assembly, and an actuator operable to generate a linear force, the actuator disposed proximate the second brake assembly. The braking system further includes a movable rod and a fixed rod extending between the first brake assembly and the second brake assembly. In some embodiments, the braking system further includes a dead lever and a slack adjuster disposed proximate the first brake assembly, the slack adjuster connected to the first brake assembly and the dead lever and operable to adjust a distance along the longitudinal axis between a reference point of the first brake assembly and a pivot point of the dead lever.

    摘要: The invention relates to railway vehicles, namely to the brake equipment of truck of the car. The system of the brake equipment on each truck contains an air control valve, an auxiliary reservoir (4), an empty/load valve (3) and brake cylinders (12). The cylinders (12) exert a force directly on cross arms (10) with the brake shoes (9). The improved mounting of pneumatic brake devices on truck at preservation of demanded dimensions is offered. It provides independent transfer of brake efforts to the executive mechanism of each truck according to conditions of its operation. Increase of efficiency of braking of vehicles, reception of stable brake characteristics and operational reliability is reached.

    摘要: A slack adjuster has a non-rotatable fast-threaded output member (19) threadedly engaged by a pair of nuts (20, 21), one of the nuts being a first brake-force-transmitting nut (20) clutchable to prevent rotation thereof and the other being a second adjustment nut (21) clutchable to land. Relative axial movement of these nuts relative to the output member (19) is a measure of "excessive" brake clearance and restoration of the normal spacing between these nuts serves to restore brake clearance to "normal". The nuts (20, 21) are housed in a housing (8) which is non-rotatable but axially movable with respect to the output member (19). The first nut (20) is clutchable to a thrust member (26) resiliently loaded with a force which is overcome only by forces of the magnitude of braking forces transmitted through the slack adjuster. There is a releasable coupling (30/31) between the housing (8) and the second nut (21) which includes a splined connection (31) and which is inoperative to prevent the second nut (21) spinning on the output member (19) except when the force transmitted by the slack adjuster is sufficient to overcome the resilient loading of the thrust member (26).

    摘要: A braking unit has a housing mounted on the spring supported frame of a railway vehicle. A fluid pressure actuator is mounted on the housing and through a translating mechanism within the housing moves a brake shoe into braking engagement with the peripheral surface of the vehicle wheel. The brake shoe is mounted on the end of a cylindrical spindle which is slidably mounted within a casing which in turn is slidably carried within the housing. Within the housing there is a mechanism interconnecting the spindle and the casing in such a manner to adjust the play between the disengaged brake shoe and the vehicle wheel to a predetermined distance from either direction in immediate response to any variation from this play.
