摘要： Tablets and other relatively fragile consumer products can be transported in a carton with little or no compromise to their integrity by providing bottom flaps of the carton with slits for cushioning the carton. Preferably, at least two adjacent flaps include the slits. Instead of slits, perforated lines or non-linear lines can be used. However, in a preferred embodiment, the carton is a corrugated carton and the slits run parallel to the lines of corrugation. More preferably, the corrugation includes troughs and the slits are imposed in the fiberboard parallel to and opposite the troughs of the corrugations.

摘要： A self-squaring corrugated container employs alignment markings on and adjacent to the manufacturing joint to allow quick visual inspection of placement and orientation of the manufacturing joint, and employs interlocking contoured peripheral edges on the major bottom flaps to allow consistent, quick, and easy formation of a container which is square, non-skewed to within small, strict tolerances. Both the alignment markings and contoured bottom flaps are die cut into the carton blank to insure uniform container alignment. Additional container features include employment of a hinged, partially detached top flap to accommodate use of the container to packaged bottles. Method steps are provided for forming the self-squaring container using the innovative features.

摘要： An octagonal bulk bin of corrugated paperboard has opposed parallel side walls spaced a predetermined distance apart and opposed parallel end walls spaced a predetermined distance apart. The side and end walls are joined by diagonal corner panels. The diagonal corner panels are made wider than the corner panels in a conventional bin, and the side and end walls are narrower, with the corner panels and the end walls having approximately the same width, while maintaining the predetermined spacing. This configuration reduces the bulge experienced when product is loaded into the bin. In addition to the wider corner panels, or in lieu thereof, scores may be placed in at least one of the side and end panels to define a line along which controlled and predetermined buckling will take place, if buckling occurs.

摘要： A carton comprises first and second panels disposed in an overlapping relationship, and an interlocking arrangement for interconnecting the first and second panels. The interlocking arrangement comprises a slit formed in the first panel, and a tab projecting from the free end edge of the second panel and received in the slit. The slit includes a main slit portion disposed generally along the free end edge of the first panel, an intermediate slit potion emanating from an end of the main slit portion and extending away from the free end edge of the first panel, and a terminal slit portion emanating from the intermediate slit portion and extending away from the main slit portion to be disposed generally along the free end edge of the first panel. The tab comprises an ear protruding from at least one of the opposite side edges of the tab. The carton is characterised in that a fold line is disposed between the intermediate and terminal slit portions such that an engaging flap is defined by the fold line and the intermediate and terminal slit portions and connected to the first panel along the fold line. The carton is also characterised in that the ear of the tab is disposed in engagement with the engaging flap.

摘要： A food storage container has a generally rigid tubular sleeve with a generally constant cross-sectional shape along the length thereof and with first and second open ends. A flexible inner storage bag is located within the generally rigid tubular sleeve for storing a food product, and, most preferably, for storing potato chips or other food chips. A generally rigid sleeve includes a first tab adjacent the first open end of the outer sleeve formed by cutting a corner of the outer sleeve and folding the cut corner inward and a second tab adjacent the second open end of the outer sleeve formed by cutting a corner of the outer sleeve and folding the cut corner inward. These first and second tabs retain the inner storage bag within the sleeve. The tabs can be manually moved aside to access the inner bag and thus the food contents therein.
