In some embodiments, the substantially rigid member can be configured to be foldable into a complete container with a lid having pivotal flaps. The pivotable flaps can be configured to engage a resilient film so as to generate tension in the film when enclosed about an article of commerce, for shock-absorbent packaging purposes. Packaging systems can also include internal pivotable flaps with interference members disposed in a hinge area to cause the internal pivotable flaps to function as leaf springs.

The exterior sidewall portions of a first pair of opposing sidewalls are substantially at a right angle to the bottom panel. The front wall of the drawer is greater than the span of the tunnel so preventing the drawer from penetrating beyond the rear opening of the tunnel, it being pulled out from the front due to the presence of two apertures making a finger-grip. The front wall forms part of a structure holding together the longitudinal walls of the drawer by two spacer flaps joined to the sides of the front inner wall, pressed against two windowed bands joined perpendicularly to their respective longitudinal walls of the drawer, and matching with the front wall on the inner side.

The box includes two channel-beam structures that are used to form two end compartments. A shelf extends between the two-channel-beam structures and defines two more compartments. A box beam extends between the two channel-beam structures, and has a portion of the shelf as one side of the beam. The interior volume of the box beam provides yet another compartment. In addition to defining the various compartments, the channel-beam structures and the box beam provide rigidity and strength to the box. Also, three strips are each glued to a different side wall of the box to provide additional strength and rigidity. All of the components in the box are formed from a single piece of die-cut material.
