摘要： An improved recyclables collection vehicle includes a lift mechanism for selective loading into any one of multiple hoppers on the vehicle. The lift mechanism includes a track which extends past the rear of the vehicle such that a moveable carriage may move along the track to collect a refuse bin located to the rear of the vehicle or on an elevated dock behind or alongside the vehicle. The carriage can be aligned with any one of the hoppers such that the lift mechanism will elevate the refuse bin and invert it over the hopper container. The movement of the carriage along the track and the raising of the lift mechanism are operated with a wireless remote control.

摘要： A side loading refuse vehicle has a forward receiving hopper and a storage compartment wherein the floor of the receiving hopper is dropped to a relatively lower level than the floor of the storage compartment. The storage compartment and the receiving hopper floors are connected by a ramped floor. The material receiving opening in the receiving hopper is at a correspondingly lower level to make manual loading easier. The side loading refuse vehicle also includes a chassis having a ramped portion and a dropped chassis for supporting the ramped floor and receiving hopper. A mechanized lifting and emptying apparatus is situated on one side of the receiving hopper such that a container of interest may be engaged on that side and emptied through the material receiving opening into the receiving hopper. The mechanized lifting and emptying apparatus includes a telescoping boom holding a supporting arm and a container grabber for engaging a container of interest.

摘要： A lift mechanism for use with a refuse truck for lifting and dumping refuse carts. The device includes a frame which is adapted for mounting on a refuse vehicle and a pan assembly which is adapted to engage refuse carts. A pair of guide arms provided which have a first end pivotally connected to a frame and a second end which is pivotally connected to the pan assembly. A first actuator arm is provided having a first end connected to the frame and a second end connected to a reciprocating actuator. A pair of second actuator arms is provided having a first end connected to a frame and having a second end connected to the pan assembly. A connecting arm is pivotally connected at a first end to a second end of the first actuator arms and at a second end to the second actuator arms at a location between the first end and second end of the second actuator arms. The connecting arm provides corresponding movement of the second actuator arm in response to movement of first actuator arm. The reciprocating actuator moves the pan assembly through the first actuator arms, the connecting arm, and the second actuator arms between a receiving position for engaging the refuse cart and a dumping position for emptying the refuse cart.

摘要： A conveying and/or handling device for containers has a plurality of coupling claws, and latching members cooperating with the latter essentially in the manner of tongs. In order to provide for simple handling of all types of containers and to load and move them about, two coupling claws are provided on a transverse bearer or beam of a lifting carriage. 摘要： A system for compacting rubbish, including a frame having a front wall, a carrier to be moved in a forwards-backwards direction relative to the frame, an upper scoop pivotably mounted on the carrier about a first horizontal axis and having an upper face for milling rubbish, and a lower scoop pivotably mounted on the upper scoop about a second horizontal axis, and having a lower milling face rubbish. The upper and lower scoops are to take a downwardly deployed position when their respective milling faces face the front wall. The carrier is to be moved forwards when the upper and lower scoops are in deployed position, in such a way as to compact the rubbish between the milling faces and the front wall. In the deployed position, a projection of the upper milling face in a transverse plane has a surface greater than or equal to a projection of the lower milling face in the transverse plane.

摘要： A refuse collection truck may be combined with a relatively larger refuse container having a cart lifting apparatus supported on such container. The truck has dump arms for selectively dumping the larger container. The cart lifting apparatus has a dumper actuator for lifting and dumping the contents of a residential refuse collection cart into the relatively larger refuse container. The container may be removably mounted on the collection truck through corresponding matable lift forks on the truck and fork channels on the container. The container preferably may be a front end load container box. Different forms of cart lifters may be used, for picking up different styles of collection carts, such as having either one or two lift pickup points (i.e., either European or domestic style carts). Different types of dumper actuator may be used, including either hydraulic or pneumatic systems, and including either rotary motors or lifting cylinder and piston combinations.

摘要： A lifter automatically adapts to pick up different style residential refuse collection carts. An upper movable clamp bar cooperates with a finger support bar to grab a smooth-sided cart with a single upper lifting lip. A hinged saddle and hinged sliding hook lifts carts having a pair of opposing engagement surfaces (e.g., bars). Hinged members are automatically pivoted into retracted positions during presentation of smooth sided carts, but are otherwise maintained in place for engaging other type carts. The lifter has a relatively short face plate for size and weight advantages, obtained by alternate extension/retraction of the hinged sliding hook during a lift cycle. Rollers on the extending face plate prevent cart scarring. Adjustment for different height carts is provided by a vertical lift assembly which uses a hydraulic sequencing valve to first raise the lifter for engaging the cart and then to cycle through a dumping process. Vertical lift adjustment uses a pair of guide rods with pairs of slip fit bushings for improved dynamic operational stability. A movable valving member is engaged by a piston for automatically reducing the flow rate of hydraulic oil as the piston nears the end of its cycle, i.e., as a cart is being fully inverted and dumped. Such action dampens cart and apparatus wear and strain. The piston responsive variable valving features are also useful with devices other than cart lifters.

摘要： During a normal waste collection service, an automated loading mechanism is used to empty the contents of a bin into a refuse vehicle. The bin has a closable lid which includes a message on its underside such that the message is displayed when the lid is open. The message indicates that recyclable wastes, such as glass, paper or the like are to be collected in a subsequent collection to the normal waste collection. A lid opening device including a lever arm which operates to automatically open the lid of the bin is employed during an emptying operation so as to display the message. This message indicates to the homeowner that the required recyclable waste can be placed into the bin, and by closing the lid, the collection service is signaled to empty the contents of the bin.
