Abstract: A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, a body supported on to the chassis, a front bumper, a lift arm assembly selectively movable between a raised position and a lowered position, a fork tube coupled to the lift arm assembly and including a pair of bump plates, and a lateral stabilizer assembly. The lateral stabilizer assembly includes a backer plate coupled to the front bumper and a pivotal arm coupled to the backer plate and including a curved down stop arranged at an end of the pivotal arm. When the lift arm assembly moves from the raised position to the lowered position, the fork tube engages the pivotal arm and the pivotal arm pivots toward the backer plate. When the fork tube engages the pivotal arm, engagement between the pivotal arm and the pair of bump plates limits lateral movement of the fork tube.

The controller includes a processor and at least one memory and is configured to receive sensor data from the sensor, the sensor data indicating a potential event, receive control data indicating a state the lift assembly, and compare the sensor data to the control data to determine if the potential event is a false event associated with the state of the lift assembly or an actual event.

The body assembly includes a body, a hopper volume, a storage volume, a wall arranged between the hopper volume and the storage volume. The wall defines an opening that provides access between the hopper volume and the storage volume. The body assembly further includes a panel coupled to the wall so that the panel is movable between an open position where opening is uncovered and a closed position where the opening is covered by the panel.

Abstract: A refuse vehicle includes a battery configured to provide electrical energy to drive at least one of a plurality of wheels, a vehicle body supported by the chassis and defining a receptacle for storing refuse therein, and an electric power take-off system including a motor configured to power to a hydraulic system in response to receiving the electrical energy from the battery, an inverter configured to provide the electrical energy to the motor from the battery, a sensor configured to detect thermal energy within the inverter, and a controller configured to receive data from the sensor, wherein the controller is further configured to determine if the data from the sensor is greater than a critical operating condition and reduce a rate of electrical energy supplied to the motor in response to determining that the data from the sensor is greater than the critical operating condition.

Abstract: A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, tractive elements, a lift apparatus, and a reach assembly. The tractive elements couple with the chassis and support the refuse vehicle. The lift apparatus includes a track and a grabber assembly. The track includes a straight portion and a curved portion. The grabber assembly releasably grasps a refuse container and ascends or descends the track to lift and empty refuse into a body of the refuse vehicle. The reach assembly includes an outer member, a first extendable member, and a second extendable member. The first extendable member is received within an inner volume of the outer member and translates relative to the outer member. The second extendable member is received within an inner volume of the first extendable member and translates relative to the first extendable member. The lift apparatus is fixedly coupled at an outer end of the second extendable member.

Abstract: A refuse vehicle has a Commercial and a Residential Mode whereby when in Commercial Mode, stops or fins, utilized in Residential Mode to assist in securing a residential container laterally at the front of the vehicle, are adjustable to prevent contact or interference with the cab protector or other portions of the vehicle when in Commercial Mode. The fins may be located and/or rotated, such as at least 30 degrees (from position to position) or above a horizontal or otherwise intermediate the residential and commercial configurations. The fins may preferably be located above a bottom of the crossbar when moving through the dumping cycle so as not to contact the cab protector in Commercial Mode. Preferably, the fins may also be housed on the residential refuse container rather than along the crossbar.

Abstract: A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, a body, a lock, a tailgate, an ejector, an actuator, a second actuator, and a processor. The body defines a receptacle for storing refuse. The lock is coupled to the body and is configured to releasably secure a movable tailgate. The receptacle contains the ejector. The ejector can transition from a first position that is spaced from the tailgate to a second position proximate the tailgate. The actuator is configured to transition the ejector from the first position to the second position. The second actuator is configured to move the tailgate. The processor is configured to selectively unlock the tailgate and transition the ejector from the first position to the second position in response to receiving a single input to thereby eject refuse from the receptacle without receiving multiple inputs.
