Abstract:
A power-driven conveyor which includes a bed with opposite front and back ends, front and back pulleys extending transversely across the bed ends, and an endless belt trained over the pulleys. A plurality of cleats are attached to the belt in spaced relation and extend transversely thereacross. A drive mechanism for the conveyor includes an actuator with an extensible and retractable rod and a pawl mechanism connected to the rod. The pawl mechanism has a push configuration in engagement with one of the cleats for advancing the conveyor belt and a retract configuration disengaged from the cleats. The conveyor is cycled and monitored by a control system.
Abstract:
A material processing system includes an oven that cooks or bakes, with electrical resistance, dough contained within containers. The oven can include a frame defining, devices mounted, in a preselected pattern, on the frame for a reciprocal movement in a vertical direction during use of the system, each device configured to connect voltage to a respective container so as to cook or bake the dough with the electrical resistance, and one or more powered members configured to move the devices in the vertical direction. Conveyors are also provided to convey a plurality of rows of containers with a plurality of containers in each row along a material conveyance path, the conveyors disposed in a series with each other and with the oven along the material conveyance path, one of the conveyors disposed within the oven so as to position a batch of the containers in an alignment with the devices.
Abstract:
A conveyor system that transports a plurality of pallets includes: at least two driving devices that each have an engaging portion to be engaged with the pallet located at an upstream-side end portion in a pallet transport direction and that moves the engaging portion in a state where the engaging portion is engaged with the pallet to thereby simultaneously push the plurality of pallets; and a transport portion on which the plurality of pallets are mounted and that is able to transport the plurality of pallets pushed by the driving devices. The conveyor system is configured to transport the plurality of pallets at a constant speed by engaging the engaging portion of one of the driving devices with the pallet and causing the one of the driving devices to start pushing the plurality of pallets by the time when another one of the driving devices completes pushing the plurality of pallets.
Abstract:
A ratchet driven continuous chain accumulator conveyor and an accuumulating and retrieval system includes a frame having a pair of continuous chains. The chains are mounted on sprockets on either end of the accumulating conveyors and run in upper and lower chain channels. A hydraulic drive cylinder is supported by the frame of each accumulating conveyor and includes gravity dogs on an operable piston end thereof. The gravity dogs provide for imparting a ratcheting motion to each pair of chains through extension and retraction of the drive cylinder. Each accumulating conveyor includes a plurality of lift means along the length thereof for lifting cases from contact with the driving chains for relieving weight pressure thereon. The accuumulating and retrieval includes a computer control and loading mechanisms for automatically loading the accumulator conveyors with product.
Abstract:
A mesh-belt conveyor for conveying materials into industrial furnaces comprises a conventional continuous mesh-belt wound at one end around an idle reversing roller and engaged at its other end in a labyrinth device subjected to a reciprocating motion in the general direction of the conveyor, the belt being also intermittently clamped, close to the reversing roller, by a gripping device which produces intermittent movements of the belt toward the reversing roller in alternation with the movements of the labyrinth device, in order to cause an intermittent advance of the belt.

Abstract:
A conveyor comprising an endless accumulation chain and at least two sets of devices for effecting incremental movements of the chain at respective stations. Each set of devices includes a first device for engaging and disengaging respectively the chain, a second device engaged to the first device for moving it from a first position to a second position while it is engaged to the chain for effecting an incremental movement of a portion of the chain and for retracting the first device to the first position while the first device is disengaged from the chain, and a third device for engaging the chain to lock the chain portion in a fixed position while the first device is disengaged from the chain and for disengaging from the chain when the first device is engaged to the chain portion so that the first device may be moved to the second position for incrementally moving the chain portion. In order to incrementally move the conveyor chain, the first device is engaged to the chain, the second device is disengaged from the chain, the engaged first device is moved from the first position to the second position to effect incremental movement of the chain, the second device is engaged to the chain to maintain a chain portion position, the first device is disengaged from the chain, and the first device is retracted to the first position to repeat the method for another incremental chain movement.
