    摘要: A splice is made, between a tail end of first web and a lead end of a second web coiled about an unwind axis, by winding a portion of the first web adjacent the tail end of the first web about a splicing roll mounted for rotation about a splice roll axis oriented substantially parallel to the unwind axis, and then joining the tail end to the lead end by compressing an adhesive between an inside surface of the tail end and an outer surface of the second web. Compression of the adhesive is accomplished by urging the splice roll against the coiled second web while the coiled second web is rotating about the unwind axis in an unwind direction and the splicing roll is rolling about the splice roll axis in a direction opposite to the unwind direction.

    摘要: In this publication it is described a method and an arrangement for moving parent reels (1) between at least two handling stations with the aid of a parent reel cart (2, 3), wherein at least one of the stations a parent reel (1) is carried on carrier rails (15). At the first handling station, the parent reel is transferred to the parent reel cart (2, 3), the parent reel (1) is locked to the cart (2, 3), and the parent reel (1) is moved to the next handling station. The parent reel (1) is transferred to the next station and the parent reel (1) locking is released. According to the invention the parent reel is moved between the station and the cart by means of transfer carriages (8), which grip the ends of the parent reel and move independently over the junction between the carrier rails (15) of the station and the parent reel carts's means (13, 14) for carrying parent reels.

    摘要: A winding machine for winding a continuous strip of then sheet material, such as paper, metal or plastics, on to a succession of axle mounted cores has the axle engaged in a pair of arms that move the axle with a full roll to an unloading position at which one end is engaged by a retainer that holds the axle horizontal when support is removed from the other end. In one embodiment the axle is swung outwards until the other end is sufficiently clear of the support frame for the core and roll to be slid off the axle to a floor mounted receptor, such as a wheeled dolly. In another embodiment a part of the side frame plate of sufficient size is hinged to the rest of the plate and is moved out of the way to permit this sliding removal of the core and roll and mounting of a new core for the next roll.

    摘要: An intermittently operating unwinding apparatus has a separating device with which a web-end is formed on the lifting-out of an empty spool from the guide ways of an unwind unit. A holding device holds the web-end in a plane which extends parallel to the guide ways, on which a new winding roll located in waiting position rests with its roll axle. The machine has a splicing unit with a cross member arranged parallel to the guide ways to which the beginning of the web of the new parent roll can be joined. During transport of the new parent roll out of the waiting position into its unwinding position the splicing unit is moved by dogs engaging at the roll axle against the holding device and the web-beginning joined to the web-end.

    摘要: A jack particularly suited for lifting roll loads has means for pivoting a first arm about an end of the arm pivoted on a support. A load lifting side of the first arm ends in a hook at a free end of the arm. The hook retains the load on the arm for lifting the load by pivoting the arm. A second arm has a retaining hook at a free end of the arm which end is positioned intermediate the ends of the first arm. The second arm is pivoted on the first arm for moving the hook of the second arm above or below the lifting side of the first arm. Means operable for retaining the hooked end of the second arm above the lifting side of the first arm are provided. The hook of the second arm then retains the load to effectively shorten the lifting arm of the jack.
