    摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing an aqueous suspension of pure-phase β-copper phtalocyanine blue pigment using an agitator ball mill. According to said method: a) in a preparatory step, a phthalocyanine crude blue is suspended by means of a dissolver in an aqueous medium, said aqueous medium containing in particular lipophilic substances, which are similar to binding agents and are compatible with the final application medium and crystalline-phase controlling and/or pigment-surface conditioning compounds; b) said aqueous suspension of the phthalocyanine crude blue is ground in an agitator ball mill to form a suspension of a β-phtalocyanine blue pigment. The aqueous suspension thus obtained is characterized in that it contains a high-grade β-phtalocyanine blue pigment for producing a conditioned β-phtalocyanine blue pigment. The advantage is that said suspension can also be directly converted into a colour concentrate, in particular by means of a flushing and kneading method.

    摘要: The deliveries to the printing ink industry of pigment preparations in the form of flushed pastes increasingly take the form of containers. Given the required high pigment content of the pastes and the attendant high viscosity and thixotropy, there are very frequent problems with filling the containers and complaints concerning the emptying of the containers. There is a demand for a homogeneous, pumpable pigment paste having a long shelf life. According to the invention, this demand is met in the case of pigments based on arylpararosanillnesulfonic acids by the use of specific aids of the type of the condensation products of aliphatic amines or ammonium compounds with polyesters of hydroxy fatty acids as part of the flushing process of the pigment using the customary or slightly modified binder systems which for the same pigment contents bring about a distinctly lower viscosity and thixotropy. The printing properties are not adversely affected.

    摘要: A method for preparing an organic pigment dispersion, such as a flush pigment or ink product, comprises steps of introducing into a twin screw extruder a stable, water-borne pigment dispersion, an organic medium, and a destabilizing agent; mixing together the stable, water-borne pigment dispersion, the organic medium, and the destabilizing agent to produce a pigment flush phase and a water phase; and removing at least a part of the water phase. A twin-screw extruder for carrying out the flushing method has an addition and flushing zone, a water removal zone, and a zone for rinsing the crude organic pigment dispersion or flush with water and removing the rinse water. Additional materials may be added to form a finished pigmented product such as an ink product, masterbatch, or toner.

    摘要: The present invention provides a process for continuous production of pigment flushes and an apparatus for carrying out the process. In the process of the invention, the pigment press cake is first fluidized. The fluidized press cake and a hydrophobic liquid organic medium are fed into a twin screw extruder. The kneading of the organic medium and press cake between the twin screws flushes the pigment into the organic medium. The water phase and flushed pigment phase are separated by removing at least part of the water phase through a vent in the extruder. An impediment to the flow of material downstream of the water vent causes the flush to accumulate in the vented section for a period of time sufficient to remove the desired amount of the water phase. The flush works over the impediment and passes downstream to where vacuum is applied to remove residual water from the flush. The flush may be further combined with other ink ingredients to form an ink product. The extruder includes at least one monitoring apparatus that continually monitors a property of the material being processed in the extruder and adjusts a process parameter in response to a deviation of the value obtained for the property from a predetermined desired value for the property.

    摘要: Easily dispersible dust-free pigment granules of high tinctorial strength are obtained by adding to the aqueous suspension of a finely divided pigment, an alkaline solution of from 25 to 90 weight percent based on the weight of the granules obtained, of colophony or a colophony derivative, acidifying the mixture, subjecting it to a flush process while stirring and heating to a temperature, above the softening point of the resin, up to 100.degree. C. and isolatng the granules obtained. The granules are particularly suitable for preparing printing inks which are distinguished by a very high tinctorial strength, a good transparency and a low viscosity.
