    摘要: A method of and an apparatus for simultaneous sizing and drying a complete number of warps of filament yarns required for weaving of cloth. During sizing, a warp sheet having high yarn density is put to uniform arrangement state using a first slant reed and a guide roller, and the warp sheet in the uniform arrangement state passes through a sizing solution and is squeezed at high pressure. The sized yarns are separated using dividing rods and a second upright reed before preparatory drying, and separated using a third upright reed and dividing rods after the preparatory drying, thereby the sized yarns in separated state in vertical and lateral directions pass through hot air during the preparatory drying. Yarns separated after the preparatory drying are put to uniform arrangement state using a fourth slant reed and a guide roller, and the yarns in the uniform arrangement state are laid over heating cylinders during finishing drying.

    摘要: A textile sheet strand is dyed by conducting it in at least two separate passes around an annular path having a first path section in a dye vat and a section path section in a gas-treatment location. In the dye vat the strand is contacted with a liquid dye bath in each of the paths, and the excess dye is squeezed out of at least two of the passes at the same time by pinch rollers immediately downstream of the dye vat. In the gas-treatment location the passes of the strand are each treated with a gas to fix the dye.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for applying sizing S to warp yarns W for weaving is disclosed. The method includes applying a concentrated solution having at least twenty percent solids and possibly up to eighty percent by applying the solution to the warps at the nip 22 of a pair of pressure rolls 12 and 14 where the bottom roll 14 is partially immersed in a slasher box and excess size solution is removed by means of a doctor blade 30. The warp yarns W are delivered directly to the nip. The doctor blade 30 is located downstream of nip 22 between the rollers such that there is no rollback of size at the nip and a desired add-on weight of size S is pressed into the yarns W. In a preferred embodiment, the application roller 14 has a relieved pattern surface 40 and the doctor blade 30 wipes the raised portions thereof leaving a metered amount in the relieved areas of the roll for application to the warps. Solution removed by the doctor blade rolls back to the slasher box. Alternately, a concentrated foam sizing composition F may be applied to a bottom roll 42 and removed by a doctor blade 44 to provide a predetermined foam thickness on the bottom roll which is applied to the warps at nip 22.

A transversable warp splitting device is provided in the chamber which is traversable from the first region, where a plurality of splitting bars can be inserted through the warp sheet so as to split it into sheets of lesser density, to a second region, where the warp sheet is acted upon by the drying medium.A cooling medium is provided between the first and second regions so as to prevent migration of the drying medium from the second region to the first region.The splitting device comprises a carriage driven for movement along a track which extends in a downwardly inclined direction from the first region to the second region.

    摘要: The surface hairiness, or fuzziness of staple spun yarn is reduced during a sizing operation by passing individual strands of the wet sized yarn through and in contact with the surfaces of the specially designed circumferential grooves in the surface of a cylindrical roller rotating in a direction opposite to the direction of the yarn''s travel so that the higher linear speed of the roller exerts a strong opposing wiping, squeezing force on the yarn moving counter to the surface speed of the inner walls of the grooves of the roller. Under certain circumstances, where modified performance is desired, the grooved roller may be rotated in the same direction as the yarn travels.
